The 4th annual PRZ Sooner State Shootout took place in Broken Arrow this weekend and we had over 100 teams from this region competing on Saturday and Sunday. In the 18U division, Warren Academy had a couple teams and this program continues to impress time after time. After watching their squads, we came away impressed with six different players and have a breakdown on each. We'll have more highlights of these players and more up on our YouTube Channel later in the week!

[player_tooltip player_id='2110880' first='Baron' last='Clevenger'] - 2027 Quarterback

2027 quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='2110880' first='Baron' last='Clevenger'] is the first of several quarterbacks for Warren Academy that stood out to us this weekend. We got to watch him quite a bit on Saturday and he checked just about every box from an execution standpoint during pool play. He's a good decision-maker and has a quick release to go along with the high on-field IQ. It also looked like he did a great job of scanning the field and going from read to read but he would take the check down when necessary. Overall, he was one of the top standout quarterbacks early on during pool play on Saturday.

Brockson Teply - 2027 Quarterback

2027 quarterback Brockson Teply was one of a handful of players this weekend that seemed to improve as the day went along. Teply made really good decisions throughout the afternoon but as each game passed, his play seemed to elevate. He has good size for a quarterback and he did a good job of distributing the balls to their different playmakers. And the balance he showed at throwing the ball to all three levels was very fun to watch. And it didn't matter if it was short, intermediate or a deep ball, his efficiency seemed to remain the same throughout the afternoon.

[player_tooltip player_id='2129254' first='Bryce' last='Brown'] - 2028 Tight End/Linebacker

When the pads come on, 2028 [player_tooltip player_id='2129254' first='Bryce' last='Brown'] is known for laying people out over the middle from his linebacker position. This weekend in Oklahoma, Brown was making a living in the middle of the field as a tight end-type for Warren Academy. Brown ran really precise short and intermediate routes and you could routinely find him in the middle of the field, sitting in the soft spots of the defense's zone. He took advantage of that quite a bit and he ended up cashing in with a couple of touchdown catches during pool play. He had a workman mentality when it came to getting open.

[player_tooltip player_id='1296778' first='Colin' last='Raybourn'] - 2027 Quarterback

2027 quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='1296778' first='Colin' last='Raybourn'] was a very fun signal caller to watch on Saturday in particular. We can see why he's one of the higher rated '27 quarterbacks in Nebraska. He had one touchdown throw in particular where he pump faked a pass, spun around and seemingly while still spinning fired a strike to the middle of the field for a score. It was a very impressive throw that you just don't see very often at these events. Raybourn looked like he was in full control of the offense at all times. In our opinion, he was one of the top quarterbacks in the 18U division this weekend in Oklahoma.

[player_tooltip player_id='1086174' first='Henry' last='Hildebrand'] - 2027 Wide Receiver

2027 wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id='1086174' first='Henry' last='Hildebrand'] was a really fun blend of size and athletic ability when we caught them in action on Saturday. He's another example of a prospect who is immediately going to pass the eye test with his overall frame. Then you watch him run routes and he's incredibly consistent in that department. He finds ways to get open and even when he doesn't have the separation, the catch radius and leaping ability makes him a match-up nightmare. Cornerbacks can do just about everything right and still not be able to stop Hildebrand from going up and getting the ball.

[player_tooltip player_id='2136218' first='Jacob' last='Obermeyer'] - 2028 Tight End/Linebacker

2028 tight end and linebacker [player_tooltip player_id='2136218' first='Jacob' last='Obermeyer'] had a similar day to Brown where he used his overall size to absolutely dominate the middle of the field on the offensive side of the ball. Obermeyer has a big and physical frame and in a 7v7 setting, he used that to his advantage to create space. We can only imagine what he looks like when the pads come on and the physicality can be ratcheted up. But when it came to this weekend, Obermeyer did a really good job on offense, catching the ball with his hands and not allowing it to come into his body. He was a reliable target in their passing game.
