2029 Watchlist Launch: Five Freshman Already Turning Heads II

Marvin brings a versatile skill set that could see him play receiver or defensive back for the Mustangs. My biggest takeaway from Marvin's game is that he is a playmaker with the ball in his hands, whether it's picking up yards after the catch or tacking on a nice return after an interception. His vision and twitchy change of direction allow him to find creases and quickly hit those gaps. Ammons is a solid route runner who showed the ability to create separation at the top of his route and has good hands at the catch point. As a freshman, Carter completed 14 of his 21 pass attempts for 178 yards, two passing touchdowns, and a 124.7 QBR. Vrana also rushed for 52 yards and two touchdowns, so he does have some wheels to make defenses pay on the ground. Sievers' athleticism and upside aren't just limited to offense, as he also looks like a promising safety prospect. Great speed and burst with the acceleration to separate from defenses when he hits the open field. Strong runner with a good base. Kalief looked more polished than many OL prospects at his age, playing with good feet, great bend, and maintaining a consistent pad level when engaged. He's also very aggressive when firing off the ball, flashing a powerful punch at the point of attack and great leg drive to move defenders off the ball. Good lateral quickness allows him to quickly gain momentum on pulling blocks or climb up to seal off LBs in the second level. Barfield is also a solid finisher who will see his block through the whistle, trying to end with a pancake block in the dirt.
