After a tremendous 2025 football season and months of evaluating and digging through Hudl rosters, I am extremely excited to announce the launch of our initial Class of 2029 watchlist for PRZ Nebraska. The 2029 watchlist includes 130 players from the freshman class who we believe have what it takes to develop into legit college prospects.

Overview:

Freshman classes in the previous 2-3 seasons have been interesting because they have gotten right to producing at the varsity level. Now, there were still plenty of players who contributed early to their varsity squads, but it seems like the 2029 class is one filled with tons of potential over early production at the moment.

Players like [player_tooltip player_id='2139874' first='Kobe' last='Maertins'] from Plainview played like a seasoned vet as he had a tremendous first year starting QB for the Pirates. Millard North's [player_tooltip player_id='2048792' first='Akili' last='Heath-Moody'], Gretna's[player_tooltip player_id='2139580' first='Nathan' last='Thiellen'], Kearney Catholic's [player_tooltip player_id='2139839' first='Cole' last='Burg'], Bergan Catholic's [player_tooltip player_id='2139868' first='Justin' last='Werner'], and several others wasted little time getting their names called up to the varsity level and made an impact early. Millard South's [player_tooltip player_id='1906384' first='Brody' last='Peters'] turned several heads in his limited varsity reps, giving the Patriot faithful and college recruiters a lot to look forward to. The skill positions look stacked with dynamic playmakers who will continue to emerge as they receive more reps and step into bigger roles.

Insight:

I just wanted to say that although I do my best to ensure we have the most comprehensive list available for players, parents, and coaches, there will still be players who slip through the cracks. The good thing is that this is not a definitive, "set in stone" list and will receive multiple updates throughout the year (likely two updates before the season starts), so you should see yourself on here eventually. With players already scattered across classes from A-D6, the initial launch presents another challenge: prospects are also spread across different levels of competition, including freshman, JV, and varsity. Because of this wide range, I decided to hold off on ranking players until more tape is available and to see how the spring/summer cycle turns out. As always, players and parents are welcome to reach out to me on X (@PRZ_OscarG) if you have any questions or believe you should be added in the next update.
