His short-area quickness is among the best in the class and he can get into the backfield before the offensive lineman has a chance to bounce to him off a double team. Mayer gets into the backfield quickly and is a low tackler who forces a lot of fumbles on contact. His lateral quickness is good too and he takes good angles to the ball in pursuit. Casani does a good job shaking blocks from offensive linemen with his hands and breaks on the ball quickly.
