Prep Redzone Iowa last wrote about Schlichting at this time a year ago. He was coming off a strong sophomore season. It was about time we checked in with the impactful presence in the trenches at Cherokee Washington. Schlichting disrupted the proceedings of the opposing offenses from the D-Line. He totaled 46.5 tackles, 25 of which were solo stops, and recorded 12.0 tackles for loss and 4.5 sacks. The junior also picked off a pass. Schlichting illustrates how he got the job done during his 11th-grade highlight video. Most of it features him working as a defensive end. From there, it's an impressive combination of power and speed. He fires off of the snap and is capable of defeating blockers with quickness and strength. He operates with violent hands. Schlichting sets the edge well and separates easily from blocks when the play comes his way. All of the traits that lead to success on defense help him find the same on the other side of the ball.

Krause impacted games in all three phases during the 2025 season at South Central Calhoun. The junior piled up 45.0 tackles, 42 of which were solo stops. He also picked off a throw. On offense, Krause caught 19 passes for 306 yards and two touchdowns, and added 87 yards on the ground and a two-point conversion. He averaged 18.3 yards on nine kick returns and 15.9 on 13 punt returns. Krause averaged 35.1 on 24 punts. Krause's 11th-grade highlight video reveals the versatile athlete that the statistics suggest. The first few clips show a well-rounded skill set at safety. On Play 1, he reads and reacts quickly in getting downhill against the run for a tackle. Krause identifies a pass on Play 2 and flies in for a pass breakup. He flashes quick and fluid actions in the secondary. Those traits translate well to the other side of the ball, where Krause delivers on underneath routes and when stretching the field. He looks natural and explosive in the return game.

Patterson provided production on both sides of the ball as a South Central Calhoun junior in 2025. He rushed 65 times for 361 yards (5.6 YPC) and three touchdowns, and added nine receptions for 60 yards, earning second-team all-district laurels as a running back. On defense, he registered 24.0 tackles with 19 of them being of the solo variety. Patterson even completed three passes, proving he'd chip in wherever the team needed. He lists his position as Athlete/Quarterback, and his 11th-grade highlight video suggests he could project at multiple spots on the next level. Patterson gets downhill in a hurry as a ball carrier, making quick decisions, cutting sharply and accelerating fast. He can run over defenders or run away from them. The Titans utilize him effectively out of the wildcat formation and when lining him up in the slot, too. His abilities also work well on defense, where he's a natural for the secondary. Patterson would contribute in special teams for a college as well.

South Central Calhoun benefited from Stickrod's contributions in all three phases of the game last fall. The junior rushed for 154 yards (5.9 YPC) and two touchdowns, and hauled in 12 balls for 125 yards and a pair of scores. He was credited with 15.0 tackles with 12 of those stops being solo. Stickrod picked off a pass and a half tackle for loss also showed up in the stats. He averaged 15.0 yards on six kick returns. Stickrod impresses during his 11th-grade highlight video. He's a high-motor linebacker that diagnoses plays well before the snap and gets downhill against the run in a hurry. Stickrod is a technically sound tackler that wraps up and drives through the offensive player. Speed and fluid movements aid him in sticking with receivers in coverage. Stickrod is explosive with the ball in his hands, making opponents miss in space and accelerating quickly.

Opposing offenses got tired of Knoll pretty quickly in 2025. The North Butler junior racked up 67.0 tackles, almost twice as many as his nearest teammate. Forty five of those stops were solo, and he posted 6.0 tackles for loss and a pair of sacks. Knoll forced a fumble and recovered one. On offense, he rushed for 102 yards (5.1 YPC) and two touchdowns, and caught two balls for 22 yards. We can witness the broad set of skills and abilities that lead to the contributions during his 11th-grade highlight videos on his Hudl page. Knoll is aligned properly on the second level of the defense thanks to pre-snap reads putting him there. He flows well to the football, shooting the gaps and closing quickly on the ball carrier. Knoll is fast laterally and in a straight line, and is smooth backpedaling in coverage. A future at safety or hybrid is a potential path depending on physical development. Special teams' contributions can be expected on the next level.
