Here is a first look at some 2027's for me. While still creeping onto the scene, all of these guys have FBS tools, and some are already picking up that level of attention.

Big DBs are always fun to watch and receive major consideration for CFB programs. McDonald, now up to 6'3 170, is a massive cloud in the secondary and has room to bulk up. Naturally creates disruption in man coverage with his length, and dropping the ball over him is difficult. However, I think he is best coming downhill. He fits well, leverages the ball nicely, and settles down before tackling. Long-term, I think McDonald will project as a safety, where he can more consistently come downhill to make physical plays on the ball.

Griggs is a box checker, and a pair of D1 offers this offseason has him creeping onto the radar. Massive DB with impressive length and room to add more weight. Plays corner, and I think he has the twitch and speed to stay at that spot. He is already hard to drop the ball over and can use his length to crowd the catch point, but his twitch, change of direction, and speed are beyond what we usually see out of corners his size. Even with FBS attention, I think this kid is underrated, and it could be a big spring as college coaches roll through.

Kidd is a traitsy IOL projection who I could see having a big spring when coaches roll around. Big fan of the traits and the projection here. He has found a home on the interior, and at 6'4 295, he absolutely has the frame to stick out at that position. Really athletic player who is quick out of his stance, brings his feet at contact, and can run in space. Will improve as his balance comes along, but it's hard to argue against the traits at this stage. Absolutely has FBS upside, and currently has an offer from Murray State.

This is my first look at [player_tooltip player_id='2140650' first='Bennett' last='Jordan'], who is starting to emerge as a noteworthy TE prospect out of Alabama. Jordan is a big body who plays several different spots, but he will project out as a receiving threat, both split out and from a more traditional TE spot. Jordan has a big catch radius and is athletic, quickly getting downfield with his long strides. Doesn't flash much complexity in routes yet, but I think he has the flexibility as an athlete to do so. He can win over the top, and also pick balls off the turf. A little rough around the edges and raw, but he has FBS upside given his size and athleticism.

This is personally my first look at Mitchell, who is covered in our 2027 rankings draft in AL. Mitchell is very much a hybrid style player, spending plenty of time as a big nickel. He flashes the athleticism needed to get by with typical DB responsibilities, but his support in the run game and ability to come downhill stick out the most. He is explosive downhill, has the bend and flexibility to dart around blockers, and uses his length to cast a wide net as a tackler and trip up ball carriers in space. Mitchell has a niche playstyle, which I actually think will benefit his recruitment down the stretch here.

There's a lot to like about Moorer, who was productive both as a pass rusher and run defender in 2025. Well-developed player with an intriguing combination of mass and length. As a pass rusher, his motor is hot, and he never stalls. Flashes shoulder shimmy, footwork, and uses his hands when running the arc. He can win in a lot of ways, and do so off both shoulders. Solid run defender who can set the edge and tackle in space. At his size and with his production, he is an easy evaluation and has flown under the radar in a major way.

This is my first look at Jones, and in my opinion, he is one of the best pure corners out of Alabama in the 2027 class. Checks the size and length boxes with a lean, cut frame. Excellent footwork, fluid hips, and efficiently attaches to routes when carrying downhill. His ball skills are fantastic, frequently producing against the ball when in position. His man coverage skills will set the intrigue here, but he rallies hard after the ball downhill and isn't afraid to generate contact. All things considered, Jones is one of the most underrated 2027 prospects in Alabama, in my opinion.
