Brandon Valley 2028s to Know

This young man is constant finisher that seems to overwhelm and generate his blockers consistently off balance. The 6'0 250 pounder also has position flexibility to rotate between guard and center and the balance you see from Landen between those two spots stands out to me. He logged 800 all purpose yards as a sophomore, and after viewing this 2028 class of running backs might be one of my front-runners in this South Dakota class right now. The 5'10 175 pounder has great vision, great twitch, and like we have seen out of a lot of Lynx running backs in recent years, ones that accelerate thru contact which Ryder does well for his age. He's got a very quick release whether he's in the pocket or maneuvering outside of it to make his throws, you see the consistent traits with the speed of his release. He also is one that for a sophomore, I liked what he showed from a poise perspective inside the pocket and showed the escapability to use his legs right away when he didn't see anything open. I love the motor this kid brings to the table on every play. He's one of the most physical tacklers I have yet within this class and makes those tackles in clutch moments when it matters most. You can call him a backfield menance, even as a sophomorew as his penetration ability seems to always be near the point of attack. A lot has changed since then and Chayce has made a great amount of growth at a more natural positon as well. He's an excellent downhill accelerator to the ball and showed last summer in camp reps that he's gotten more comfortable in 1v1 pass coverage. He's also good with his hands getting off blocks to get to the point of attack.
