A Virginia native who has made his way down to Georgia for his junior season, Bray is a physical, productive interior defensive lineman who dominated the competition on a consistent basis last season. Bray made an eye-opening 86 tackles in 2025 to go along with 32 TFLs and 6.5 sacks. He also forced five fumbles and pressured the quarterback 30 more times, all while helping run the ball around the goal-line on offense. The thick, powerful 6-foot-1 280-pounder is likely bound for a massive junior season for Caver (GA) out in West Georgia for the 2026 season.

A new 2028 defensive back to know about in Gwinnett County, [player_tooltip player_id='2156218' first='Justin' last='Harris'] is a 6 foot-0 170 cornerback who broke up 13 passes in coverage last season for his Shiloh High School team. The do-it-all athlete also excelled on special teams as a punt and kick returner while making 36 tackles on defense to go along with two more interceptions. He's one of the top returning defenders in the region who will be added to the next rankings update this summer for his class. He's a sure-tackling defender against the run and a promising cover corner with his best football ahead of him. Look for Harris to have a fantastic junior season in 2026.

Easily, one of the more underrated 2028 defensive backs in the Atlanta area, [player_tooltip player_id='1669650' first='Derico' last='Welch Jr']. is a playmaking safety who knows how to attack the football and create turnovers for his Cedar Grove defense. Just a sophomore, Welch plays the middle of the field as well as any safety in the area and brings impressive size already with a lengthy at 6-foot-5 and 180-pound frame. He tackles well and has a natural feel in coverage. Welch should see a bump in his Prep Redzone ranking later this summer along with several more D1 offers. Don't be surprised if he has a true breakout junior season for Cedar Grove in 2026.

An impressive two-way defender on the rise in the Atlanta area, Brendan Flounory is a running back and linebacker for Cedar Grove who showed a lot of promise last year as a sophomore. At linebacker, the 5 foot 9, 185 pound defender was quick, active, and showed he could make a secure tackle in the open field. He made a lot of plays in the backfield and did it as a sophomore against really quality competition. At running back, he was a consistent weapon out of the backfield, he runs with power, and should see more carries come his way as a junior in 2026. He's one of the top two-way players returning in the region for his class and will be an easy addition to the 2028 Prep Red Zone rankings in the next update.

A sleeper 2028 linebacker from Macon, [player_tooltip player_id='1974766' first='Anthony' last='Horton'] is a sure tackling defender with great instincts against the run. Th Westside (GA) defender dissects plays quickly, can fight off blocks and knows how to make a tough, secure tackle on the ball carrier. Just as sophomore, Horton was one of the top 2028 linebackers in the region making 44 tackles with five tackles for a loss, and two sacks. He stands at 6'2, 215 pounds with a frame that should allow him to continue adding good muscle. He plays hard, he's quick, active, and bound for a gigantic junior season in 2026. He's currently ranked as the No. 27 LB prospect in the state for his class.
