Continuing to look at our senior quarterback class, here we breakdown the best pocket passers we have coming out of the TN2027 class. It's a deep quarterback group this year that has some serious talent when it comes to throwing the football, including these guys below that all have traits to reach the next level.

(QB) [player_tooltip player_id='939950' first='Keegan' last='Croucher'] - Baylor

- Making the move to the Volunteer State for his senior season, Croucher is a physical specimen behind center that brings great college size and tools to the playing field along with a powerful right arm. The Red Raiders senior passer has enough athleticism to make throws outside his comfort zone but Croucher's money is made hanging in the pocket and delivering the ball quickly down field. The football explodes from his right arm and gets to his pass catcher in a hurry. Croucher shows the ability to make all the throws needed for the Power Four stage and potentially beyond. He brings a confident, poised presence from the pocket as well. All the potential resides here with Croucher to be the best pocket passer coming out of Tennessee this cycle and one of the best in the country.

- - - - -

(QB) [player_tooltip player_id='1142902' first='Cooper' last='Newman'] - Sevier Co.

- Newman has built a good stock for himself over the past two years by using his talented right arm to achieve back to back state title appearances with one of them ending with a “Gold Ball.” The Smoky Bears quarterback is a true pocket passer that stands strong amongst pressure and delivers the ball accurately and on time. He is a solid athlete that will tuck it and run when needed but Newman mainly hangs tough in the pocket while keeping his eyes down field, looking for the open receiver. While he does sport a powerful right arm, I can see another level with his strength if Newman can continue working in the weight room. Regardless, this is a talented thrower of the football that has a bevy of big time programs chasing in pursuit.

- - - - -

(QB) [player_tooltip player_id='1668630' first='Dallas' last='Covington'] - East Nashville

- Coming off a breakout junior year, Covington is starting to crawl out from the shadows on the recruiting trail as one of the better pure passers from our TN2027 class and someone that is still coming into his own, so his future looks very bright. Sporting great overall size with a strong right arm, Covington is one of the better pocket passers from this class that shows the ability to make all the proper throws needed including down the field where Covington may have one of the better deep balls in the state. He is a good athlete that will run if called upon but his work is done in the pocket where he stands strong and confident with exceptional poise. I do think Covington should use his athleticism a little more often but I dig the calm presence amongst pressure in the pocket and allowing his talented right arm to do most of the work.

- - - - -

(QB) [player_tooltip player_id='834810' first='Crews' last='Jenkins'] - Brentwood Academy

- This Mid-Tennessee product is an interesting case as Jenkins could be placed in the “dual threat” category due to his athleticism but the Eagles signal caller has better upside as a true passer that does his damage from the pocket. Jenkins is a cerebral, high FBI quarterback that does all the small things right and consistently puts his offense in position to be successful. He brings strong mechanics to the field along with good enough arm strength to push the ball down field and make some tough throws. Jenkins is a tad undersized (6 '0) but he performs bigger along with a calm, cool presence about himself that I feel would be of great value to a college quarterback room. The Eagles signal caller holds 10 plus offers right now and I expect his list to grow as more coaches dive into his upside as a college pocket passer.

#TN2027 Quarterback Database

- - - - -

(QB) [player_tooltip player_id='1292341' first='Corbin' last='Hobson'] - GCA

- Transferring to play with the Rams for his senior season, Hobson is a true pocket passer that has some of the best mechanics from our senior class and a powerful right arm that can make all the throws. This East Tennessee product is a multi-year starter that has steadily gotten better through the years. Hobson isn't the greatest athlete in the pocket but his footwork allows him to succeed and get the ball to his playmakers. What helps his cause is his decisive decision making and ability to get the ball out quickly and on time for his receivers to make plays after the catch. Hobson has a powerful right arm as well, meaning he can push it deep down field while also being able to make those tough, sideline passes. The offers have yet to come in for Hobson but hopefully a strong camp season and senior year should change that.

- - - - -

Five More to Follow …..

(QB) [player_tooltip player_id='1535798' first='Connor' last='Jenne'] - Silverdale: Holding a few offers in hand already, expect to see several others follow suit due to Jenne's arm talent and ability to make tight window throws. This Chattanooga area pocket passer brings good size and a strong right arm to the playing field that translates well to the college game and I still feel he has more levels to his game. Jenne is a deceptive athlete too that will run if needed but his strength is in the pocket where he delivers the ball with accuracy.

(QB) [player_tooltip player_id='1652877' first='Jack' last='Van Orman'] - CPA: Coming off a solid first year as the starter at CPA, Van Orman is a tall and strong armed pocket passer that displays potential for the next level, especially with continued development. The Lions senior is a true pocket guy that does have deceptive athleticism but Van Orman does most of his damage standing strong in the backfield. He has clean mechanics while showing enough arm strength to make tough throws. If he can add more power to his right arm, his stock may take off.

(QB) [player_tooltip player_id='496084' first='Mack' last='Bartholomew'] - Knox. Catholic: Bartholomew has raw talent that hopefully he taps into this off-season and into his senior year. The Fighting Irish quarterback has some of the best spin and velocity in this class but to fulfill his potential, Bartholomew must learn to check off and read coverage better while also tweaking his mechanics a little bit. The arm talent is there along with good enough athleticism to make a difference.

(QB) [player_tooltip player_id='1660896' first='Kason' last='McGowan'] - Cleveland: Watching how McGowan has progressed over the past year and half, I think this East Tennessee pocket passer is due for a breakout senior year. The Blue Raiders quarterback has smooth mechanics and a very catchable ball. He displays good footwork, especially win lining up for the pass along with enough athleticism to make plays outside the pocket. McGowan is a guy we could see rising up the charts after the summer months due to his potential as a “West Coast” style college quarterback.

(QB) [player_tooltip player_id='446208' first='Cayden' last='Creech'] - USJ: A true pocket passer with good enough arm strength to make all the proper throws, Creech is an intriguing guy that sports the potential to carve out a starting role one day on the college stage. The Bruins rising senior had a strong debut year last Fall as a first time starter, showing accuracy and timing while handling pressure well from the pocket. Creech still has plenty of room for development, so how he progresses this off-season will go a long way in his recruitment.

Continuing to look at our senior quarterback class, here we breakdown the best pocket passers we have coming out of the TN2027 class. It's a deep quarterback group this year that has some serious talent when it comes to throwing the football, including these guys below that all have traits to reach the next level.
