The Southern Brawl 7 on 7 brought talent from all over the country together to compete in Gainesville, Georgia, this past weekend. These rising seniors rose to the occasion throughout the tournament and were responsible for countless highlights and explosive plays.

Quarterback

There was a lot of arm talent in attendance at the Southern Brawl 7 on 7 this past weekend. The quarterbacks below dissected defenses on a consistent basis and made impressive throws throughout the tournament. Tristin Sharpe and [player_tooltip player_id='2116499' first='De'mond' last='Slaughter'] were featured in a previous article spotlighting Sleeper QBs in the class of 2027 - Click Here

Segar's arm was elite on the way to the Gulf Coast Athletic Canes 18U championship victory. He played with confidence and poise, knowing exactly where to go with the ball without putting it into harm's way. His passes were rhythmic and on time in his progression, no matter where they were on the field. Segar showed that he can layer the ball, fitting his throws over defenders or between the safety and corner. His receivers rarely had to break stride, allowing them to create big plays after the catch. If the defense muddied the progression, he remained calm and reset to find an open receiver.

Tristin showcased excellent timing and precision in his throws at the Southern Brawl. He is efficient throwing quick game, reading the defender in conflict quickly, and delivering the ball to a spot rather than waiting to see the receiver open. Intermediate and deep throws are thrown with anticipation and velocity, with the ball cutting through the air and fitting into tight throwing windows. Tristin's ability to push the ball downfield was on full display, throwing multiple 40 yard touchdowns on various routes and throwing lasers to digs and post 20+ yards down field.

Slaughter's throwing motion is incredibly fast, to the point where you can hear the ball leave his hands due to its high rate of revolutions. He consistently fit the ball into narrow throwing lanes between the hashes and showed off his arm strength, perfectly placing the ball on comebacks and corners outside the numbers. Slaughter knows where he wants to go with the football and will manipulate the defense by looking off the safeties before flipping to his target.

Running Back

Running backs took advantage of the opportunity to showcase their ability as a receiving threat, either from the backfield or split out at receiver. These backs showed that they are versatile threats for any offense.

Aiden was a consistent playmaker, showing that he has the versatility to create explosive plays from the backfield and on the perimeter, taking the majority of his snaps outside and in the slot. His athleticism was on full display, running every route on the route tree with precision and plucking the ball out of the air and away from defenders. When the ball is in his hands, defenders find themselves struggling to corral him after the catch, as he can make defenders miss by cutting and changing direction on a dime.

Mullins was a reliable target and weapon for his quarterbacks throughout the 2 days. The majority of his touches were out of the backfield, simulating his natural role within a real game. However, he proved that he is more than just a checkdown or an outlet within a progression. He has the capability to run a diverse route tree out of the backfield, catching a multitude of passes on the second level. His speed and acceleration out of his breaks make him a mismatch for most linebackers.

The 2027 running back out of Memphis showed that he can be an asset in the passing game. Bradley is extremely twitchy as a route runner and with the ball in his hands. This made him extremely effective in quick game and in the redzone, as he could tempo or hesitate at the top of his route before exploding into his break, causing the defenders to false step. He is sure-handed, as he made numerous tough catches in traffic or tight windows.

The Southern Brawl 7 on 7 brought talent from all over the country together to compete in Gainesville, Georgia, this past weekend. These rising seniors rose to the occasion throughout the tournament and were responsible for countless highlights and explosive plays.
