We made it. During the last few months, Prep Redzone Iowa has updated its 2026-2028 Class rankings and released its initial 2029 Watch List.

More updates will be arriving in the spring as we dig into more film. So, if you haven't yet put together highlights from the 2025 season, there's time to post them before we reevaluate. It will run out quickly, however.

Here's a look at new batch of guys to have on your radar:

We try. We really do. No matter how much we dig, however, guys slip through the cracks. That was the case with Heifner up to me adding him to our data base at the time of writing this scouting report. He should have been in it before that. We'll try to make up for lost time by tracking the talented Belmond-Klemme junior moving forward. He certainly produced in 2025, completing almost 60 percent of his throws for 1,856 yards and 20 touchdowns against nine interceptions. Heirner added 382 yards (4.2 YPC) and six scores on the ground. He also shined on defense with 38.0 tackles (25 solo, 1.0 TFL), an interception and four passes defended in earning second-team all-state laurels. We can witness how he gets the job done when watching his 11th-grade highlight video. Heifner flashes easy arm strength and quickly works through his progressions. He gets the ball out on time, and can fit it into tight windows or drop it in the bucket. Heifner is a good athletes, as evidenced by him leading the school's basketball team in scoring (21.7 PPG) and rebounding (10.8 RPG) as of Feb. 18.

Otabor is new to our data base, a move that's overdue. On a talented Valley roster that reached the state semifinals once again in 2025, the defensive lineman got overshadowed. In addition, from an evaluation standpoint, there's not a lot of film to analyze on his Hudl page. Bound shows him accumulating light statistics during the fall, so perhaps there was an injury. The highlights we see are from the playoff games versus Prairie and Dowling. He wins matchups against a few of the better offensive linemen in the state during those clips. Otabor combines athleticism, quickness and strength to beat the opponent. He's definitely one to watch heading into 2026 and already is being courted by smaller colleges.

Hoffman earned all-state recognition as a sophomore in 2024 when he converted all eight of his field-goal attempts and made 31 of 33 extra points. The numbers dropped off this past fall, but he didn't miss a point-after attempt and booted a 46-yard field goal. Hoffman also added punting duties to his responsibilities. We can witness his skills when watching a mixed highlight package of the last two campaigns. Leg strength shines through when he's blasting it through the uprights or kicking off. Schools like Grand View and Dordt are showing interest in the Bomber boomer.

Dunlay spent his first season of high school football competing on the freshman level at Pleasant Valley, a school that regularly develops talent for the next level. The ninth-grader flashes the potential to be among the next student-athletes following that path when we watch his 2025 highlights. On the first play, he takes an inside handoff, gets to the edge and outruns the defense for a 30-yard touchdown. The rest of the film features a guy with the ability to make defenses miss in space whether taking handoffs or catching passes. Dunray runs good routes and can deliver in traffic or over the top. It's a skill set that would also work in the return game or in the defensive backfield.

At 6-6, 330, Dedic won't get lost in a crowd. He's easy to find on the football field as well. The Des Moines North mountain impresses during his junior highlight video. Dedic operates with power from the right guard position. His hands are active and strong, allowing for him to ride the defender out of the play. Dedic moves well for a big guy and can reach blocks on the second level. He plays through the whistle and looks light on his feet for his size. Dedic has some rawness to his game that can ironed out with more reps. A foundation is here for a future on the next level with a ways to go before reaching his ceiling.

Roth hauled in 11 passes for 208 yards (18.9 YPC) and two touchdowns as a Lawton-Bronson junior in 2025, and picked up seven yards on one carry. He added a pair of two-point conversions. Roth provides evidence as to how he finds success during his 11th-grade highlight video. Roth is just as likely to beat defenses by taking a pass underneath and making guys miss as he is to take the top off down the field. In both instances, he runs crisp routes and flashes burst in the open field. Roth utilizes his height and long arms in being able to win the ball over top of the secondary members. His set of skills also would work on defense and special teams.
