<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>As customary with my event coverage, I feverishly write as many notes as I can, as quickly as I can, in order to report on as many prospects as I can. In this feature from Prep Redzone Next's New Jersey Exposure Camp, I share my positional notes for the group aforementioned in this article's title. More coverage on different groups will be forthcoming in the days to follow, so be sure to check back later!</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Receiver Notebook</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Like I did for the preceding article in this series, I will start and end this article with a top performer. A 7th grader who stood out in my mind was [player_tooltip player_id='2091256' first='Landon' last='Collazo']. Collazo, all 5'4" of him, used his size and quickness to his advantage. I saw him absolutely abusing defend backs with quick, underneath routes like pivots and returns to consistently win. Additionally, Collazo used his hands nearly exclusively to haul in passes... Speaking of hands, they must be emphasized at a very young age now a days. I noticed how [player_tooltip player_id='2087048' first='Tyler' last='Trolan'], a 6th grader, used his hands to haul in passes as well. Additionally, Trolan did a great job of adjusting to passes that sprayed his catch radius.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A prospect that I did not receive their roses while competing was [player_tooltip player_id='2060910' first='Gene' last='Umstead']. A bit lanky as an 8th grader, Umstead measured in at 5'10" 136lbs. Aside from his aesthetics, he was a solid-looking performer and jumped out to me as a natural at the receiver position. A product of the finer coaching points, Umstead also did a great job sinking his hips on 90 degree cuts, often getting open and creating separation in the process... The lone tight end that I will cover in today's coverage was [player_tooltip player_id='1558199' first='Donavon' last='Lynch']. With impressive size at 6'1" 205lbs, he certainly has the body type ready to serve a varsity roster. I particularly thought Lynch did a great job of gaining ground with his strides, constantly attacking green grass and forcing defenders on his heels. Additionally, Lynch showed explosive twitchiness with his release at the line. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Sometimes a prospect stands tall as a man amongst boys. This was the case for [player_tooltip player_id='1455096' first='Luke' last='Maurino']. It seemed as though Maurino was toying around with his competition en route to securing both top performer and offensive camp MVP honors. At 6'1" 190lbs, Maurino was physically superior to most of mis matchups and made playing receiver look easy. I do question, however, some "all-star" type tendencies I noticed. The first glimpse I saw of him, Maurino won off his release and further when he broke his stem. Rather than simply use two hands to secure the ball, he elected to attempt a show boat-like, one-handed catch. Needless to say, he did not convert that reception. In terms of skills, Maurino high points the ball well, using his height to his advantage, while also securing passes with his hands and not his body. Speaking of his body, he also leveraged it well to secure his path to the ball and shield opponents from making plays on it. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Prep Redzone Next Who's Next: New Jersey Camp Coverage</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><a href="https://prepredzone.com/2026/01/burning-questions-qbs-must-answer-at-whos-next-exposure-camp">Burning Questions for Quarterbacks</a><br><a href="https://prepredzone.com/2026/01/burning-questions-d-line-must-answer-at-whos-next-exposure-camp">Burning Questions for Defensive Linemen</a><br><a href="https://prepredzone.com/2026/01/burning-questions-lbs-must-answer-at-whos-next-exposure-camp">Burning Questions for Linebackers</a><br><a href="https://prepredzone.com/2026/01/burning-questions-wr-tes-must-answer-at-whos-next-exposure-camp">Burning Questions for Wide Receivers, Tight Ends</a><br><a href="https://prepredzone.com/2026/01/burning-questions-dbs-must-answer-at-whos-next-exposure-camp">Burning Questions for Defensive Backs</a><br><a href="https://prepredzone.com/2026/01/burning-questions-rbs-must-answer-at-whos-next-exposure-camp">Burning Questions for Running Backs</a><br><a href="https://prepredzone.com/2026/01/burning-questions-ol-men-must-answer-at-whos-next-exposure-camp">Burning Questions for Offensive Linemen</a><br><a href="https://prepredzone.com/2026/01/prep-redzone-next-new-jersey-camp-prospect-offensive-eye-test">Offensive Eye Test</a><br><a href="https://prepredzone.com/2026/01/prep-redzone-next-new-jersey-camp-prospect-defensive-eye-test">Defensive Eye Test</a><br><a href="https://prepredzone.com/2026/01/prep-redzone-next-new-jersey-camp-top-defensive-combine-scores">Top Combine Performances, Defense</a><br><a href="https://prepredzone.com/2026/01/prep-redzone-next-new-jersey-camp-top-offensive-combine-scores">Top Combine Performances, Offense</a><br><a href="https://prepredzone.com/2026/01/prep-redzone-next-new-jersey-camp-offensive-top-performers-mvp">Most Valuable Player + Top Performers, Offense</a><br><a href="https://prepredzone.com/2026/01/prep-redzone-next-new-jersey-camp-defensive-top-performers-mvp">Most Valuable Player + Top Performers, Defense</a><br><a href="https://prepredzone.com/2026/01/prep-redzone-next-new-jersey-camp-defensive-back-notebook-pt-1">Scout's Notebook: Defensive Backs, Part 1</a><br><a href="https://prepredzone.com/2026/01/prep-redzone-next-new-jersey-camp-defensive-back-notebook-pt-2">Scout's Notebook: Defensive Backs, Part 2</a><br><a href="https://prepredzone.com/2026/02/prep-redzone-next-new-jersey-camp-defensive-back-notebook-pt-3">Scout's Notebook: Defensive Backs, Part 3</a><br><a href="https://prepredzone.com/2026/01/prep-redzone-next-new-jersey-camp-quarterback-notebook-pt-1">Scout's Notebook: Quarterbacks, Part 1</a><br><a href="https://prepredzone.com/2026/01/prep-redzone-next-new-jersey-camp-quarterback-notebook-pt-2">Scout's Notebook: Quarterbacks, Part 2</a><br><a href="https://prepredzone.com/2026/02/prep-redzone-next-new-jersey-camp-quarterback-notebook-pt-3">Scout's Notebook: Quarterbacks, Part 3</a><br><a href="https://prepredzone.com/2026/01/prep-redzone-next-new-jersey-camp-defensive-line-notebook-pt-1/">Scout's Notebook: Defensive Line, Part 1</a><br><a href="https://prepredzone.com/2026/01/prep-redzone-next-new-jersey-camp-defensive-line-notebook-pt-2"></a><a href="https://prepredzone.com/2026/02/prep-redzone-next-new-jersey-camp-defensive-line-notebook-pt-2">Scout's Notebook: Defensive Line, Part 2</a><br><a href="https://prepredzone.com/2026/01/prep-redzone-next-new-jersey-camp-running-back-notebook-pt-1">Scout's Notebook: Running Backs, Part 1</a><br><a href="https://prepredzone.com/2026/02/prep-redzone-next-new-jersey-camp-running-back-notebook-pt-2">Scout's Notebook: Running Backs, Part 2</a><br><a href="https://prepredzone.com/2026/02/prep-redzone-next-new-jersey-camp-running-back-notebook-pt-3">Scout's Notebook: Running Backs, Part 3</a><br><a href="https://prepredzone.com/2026/01/prep-redzone-next-new-jersey-camp-receiver-notebook-pt-1">Scout's Notebook: Receiver, Part 1</a><br><a href="https://prepredzone.com/2026/02/prep-redzone-next-new-jersey-camp-receiver-notebook-pt-2">Scout's Notebook: Receiver, Part 2</a><br><a href="https://prepredzone.com/2026/02/prep-redzone-next-new-jersey-camp-receiver-notebook-pt-3">Scout's Notebook: Receiver, Part 3</a><br><a href="https://prepredzone.com/2026/01/prep-redzone-next-new-jersey-camp-linebacker-notebook-pt-1">Scout's Notebook: Linebacker</a><br><a href="https://prepredzone.com/2026/02/prep-redzone-next-new-jersey-camp-offensive-line-notebook-pt-1">Scout's Notebook: Offensive Line, Part 1</a><br><a href="https://prepredzone.com/2026/02/prep-redzone-next-new-jersey-camp-offensive-line-notebook-pt-2">Scout's Notebook: Offensive Line, Part 2</a></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
