The Minnesota sectional prep hockey championships are tomorrow, which means the legendary, vaunted, and all-consuming Minnesota State High School Hockey Tournament is right on the horizon. With the state's prep sports spotlight firmly shifting to narratives such as Class A vs. Class AA, Public vs. Private, Metro vs. Outstate, Everyone vs. Edina, and whatever D1, USHL, or NHL-bound stud tore up the tournament, PRZMN wants to quickly fit in another multi-sport feature highlighting the best football/hybrid prospects Minnesota has to offer right now. Of course, shoutout to [player_tooltip player_id='592125' first='Mason' last='West'], who is tearing it in the USHL with the Fargo Force, as well as seniors such as [player_tooltip player_id='923840' first='Chase' last='Bjorgaard'], [player_tooltip player_id='1255890' first='Logan' last='Smith'], [player_tooltip player_id='592225' first='Ryder' last='Skanson'] (goalie), [player_tooltip player_id='1255900' first='Kane' last='Thompson'] (goalie), [player_tooltip player_id='2117866' first='Tate' last='Hamre'], [player_tooltip player_id='1708011' first='Charlie' last='Becker'], and [player_tooltip player_id='592122' first='Quinton' last='VeDepo'] for tearing it up during their senior seasons on the ice. However, it's the non-seniors time to shine, get to know some Minnesota Multi-Sport Standouts below!

You always want to lead things off with a headliner! Edina's [player_tooltip player_id='1629875' first='Gage' last='Geyer'] is an absolute monster on skates for the Hornets' esteemed prep hockey team, but he does his best work on the gridiron, and in the midst of only a single season of varsity football this fall Geyer has catapulted himself up to #10 in the state's recent 2027 Ranking's Update. PRZMN got an excellent look at Geyer this fall, having seen the Hornets three times plus a 7v7 appearance in the summer in what evolved into the school's first state football championship in the Prep Bowl era, and Geyer was disruptive, with an exciting blend of size, twitch, and power, and he's transitioned the success to the ice with Edina's hockey team, playing in five games but recording some some penalty minutes, bringing some size and physicality to what has become yet another section championship for the Hornets last night versus Wayzata.

As mentioned however, Geyer is a football prospect first, and his 2025 junior tape displays a positionally versatile defensive lineman with heavy hands that win at the contact point and noticeably send OL backward off the snap once he gets his paws on an opponent. The 250ish-pounder is easily able to shed and make tackles behind the LOS as well as gain width laterally thanks to his quickness and bend, and his bend and flexibility allow him to win with leverage against smaller OGs and iOL. Plus, Geyer is a good 1v1 tackler and has a nose for the football, and ball carriers aren't gaining any extra yardage once he puts his pads on them. His highlights really culminate with one particular rep that showcases exciting play speed that helped manufacture an exciting sack against STMA that involved 250 pounds chasing down a mobile Knights' QB rolling out field side from the back the LOS in an eye-catching display of speed for a DL of his size. I don't think we have any athletic data on Geyer, so this summer camp szn is going to be a big one in terms of breaking into that P4 sphere of offers. Keep an eye on Edina this offseason, both in hockey and football!

A sophomore bound for a Top 10 debut on the upcoming PRZMN 2028 Ranking's Update, Eden Prairie's superstar of a multi-sporter Owen Konrad was one of the Breakout Stars of the 2025 prep football season in the Land of 10,000 Lakes, dominating upperclassmen defenses in Class 6A in his debut varsity season and thrilling PRZMN live and in-person in the Eagles throttling of eventual state champion Edina in Week 3 of the regular season. With a dangerous combination of speed, burst, vision, and lethal footwork/elusiveness in the open field on the gridiron, Konrad - to no surprise - is also a potent and, dare I say "elite", threat on the ice for Eden Prairie's illustrious and tradition-rich prep hockey team. The kid also possesses some exciting contact balance, physicality, and toughness/effectiveness as a blocker as the Eagles' tailback, with a well-rounded game and a ton of home run ability for a underclassman. Konrad has posted eye-popping numbers this season, totaling 42 points off 19 goals and 23 assists in 2025-26, tied for second on the Eagles this winter, but a 4-1 loss to Minnetonka in the Section 2AA section semis last Saturday ended the young sophomore's season before he got a chance to compete at the X. If you haven't gotten the message yet, this isn't your average sophomore.

If you haven't been paying attention, the Aitkin Gobblers have been putting out some serious multi-sport talents as of late, and their latest installment may be the Gobblers' scariest product yet. Coming in somewhere around 6'3, 220 lbs. Fulton is a devastating sight to see on both the gridiron and hockey rink, and boy does he know how to produce. This past fall on the gridiron, Fulton totaled 108 tackles, 2 INTs, and a fumble recovery as well as 143 rushes for 1,085 yards and 19 TDs on a tremendous 7.59 YPC average while leading Aitkin to its second nine-win season in school history. He kept the momentum going into the hockey season with his Northern Lakes co-op, consisting of players from Pequot Lakes, Crosby, Aitkin, and Pine River-Backus, coming in at second on the team in points with a ridiculous 40 point, 21 goal, 19 assist junior hockey season that still ongoing, as Northern Lakes beat Sartell 3-2 in the Section 6A Championship in St. Cloud last night, qualifying for the MN state hockey tournament!

On the gridiron, Fulton is laterally agile and is easily able to slide and scrape across the LOS for a towering ILB, and the 220ish lber. can beat blocking attempts with either quickness or power, and he rarely finds himself tied up around the box and LOS. Fulton also displays impressive closing speed for his size, and I'd hate to be on the receiving end of a collision with the Aitkin linebacker off a full head of steam. Plus, he's a twitchy, fluid gas stove of a ball carrier who sends would-be tacklers bouncing off him like bowling pins and displays some scary home run speed for his size. Sitting just outside the Top 100, Fulton can easily shoot himself into the upper echelons of the state's rankings depending on how the summer camp circuit goes.

A recent Top 150 debutant to the PRZMinnesota 2027 Official Ranking's Update, we are very excited about Mahtomedi's stud junior LB Will Seevers for quite a few reasons. The ILB helped engineer an 8-2 2025 season for Zephyrs, as well as an appearance in the Section 4AAAAA championship, thanks to a contribution that totaled 95 total tackles, 20 TFLs, and 4 sacks, all first or second on the team, and he has some veyr fun tape to boot. Plus, Seevers transitioned his production to the ice, coming in at 23 points with 13 goals and 10 assists in his junior hockey season. Plus, Maht beat Chisago Lakes in the Section 4A Championship in Maplewood 7-1 last night, so look for them at the X in the coming weeks!

On the gridiron, however, Seevers looks like one of the fastest defensive players, and especially linebackers, in Minnesota. He is a true sideline-to-sideline defender who takes great angles to the football, runs the alley with lethal intent & effectiveness, and he comes into tackles full-throttle and is a strong form-tackler. Seevers possesses start/stop acceleration really helps him cover ground and show off range in pursuit, and he demonstrates noticeable pop when he's attacking blockers around the box. Plus, tons of room to add weight. Get him on your recruiting boards now!

A rising sophomore who really caught the attention of PRZMN thanks to his exploits and success on the 2025-26 varsity prep hockey season in Minnesota. Sadly, Baukol doesn't have any football tape available, and it doesn't look like he totaled any varsity statistics from this past fall. However, with the size, obvious athleticism and production displayed on hockey rinks across MN this winter, and bloodlines from his 6'7, NSIC-bound brother, you can bet your butt that PRZMN is going to keep their eyes out for all Baukols at Mankato West.

There's always dynamic, potentially-prolific multi-sporters Way Up North, and International Falls High School has a 2027 that PRZMN just HAD to highlight in this hockey/football hybrid special. Carson Crandall, a 2027 multi-sport standout, balled out in 2025 on the gridiron, tallying 97 rushes for 499 yards and 3 TDs, 40 catches for 362 yards and 5 TDs, and 72 tackles, 11 TFLs, and 1 INT defensively. Crandall kept the momentum rolling into the winter, helping the Broncos to a 22-2 record this winter but losing in the Section 7A quarterfinals to Proctor on Thursday, the 16th, 2-0. As a defenseman, Crandall has scored 2 goals and finished with 27 assists for a strong junior season on the ice. Sadly, Crandall doesn't have any tape available from football or hockey that I could find, a dang shame if you ask me, as he'd make a heckuva prospect in either sport at the next level.
Nothing like 6'4, 200+ pounds coming at you with reckless abandon on skates! After helping Waconia to a 5-4 record in 2025, Herman has been playing well on the ice for the Wildcats 11-11 varsity squad as a defenseman, posting 15 points off 7 goals and 8 assists in 27 games this winter, which saw its campaign end on Thursday, the 19th, 0-6 to Delano.

Big, tall, poised strong pocket-passer with a cannon of a deep ball that can stretch the field and drop the ball right in the breadbasket of the streaking receiver. Throws to only where the receiver can make a play on it and leads the wideout open, and is also dangerous with his legs and does show some juice and splash-play ability when he tucks and takes off. Plus, he can extend plays with his legs and is accurate on the move. Not to mention the fact that Herman owns a frame that could transform into monstrous proportions in a college S&C program.

As a sophomore, Buettner showed the top speed to easily cruise past pursuers like they're in the slow motion and burn past even good pursuit angles like it's a stroll in the park. I really like how quickly he can accelerate and get vertical once he sticks his cleat in the turf and works upfield, and if he has space, it's one cut and he's gone. The Woodbury product shows great burst that can go from 0-60 in a blink, impressive contact balance for his age and size that can bounce weaker tackle attempts off his lower body, and he's a smooth cutter with noticeable COD ability. Keep your eyes and ears out for the Pioneers these next two seasons!

A freshman I am very excited to recently add to our 2029 PRZMN radar, Hill-Murray's Tristan Will is a promising three-sport prospect for the Pioneers who put some exciting film from the 2025 football season in Minnesota. A non-varsity standout who is building some serious depth for the Pio's RB/LB rooms, Will is also making some noise in the non-varsity ranks of Hill-Murray's vaunted hockey team this winter. Plus, the kid plays baseball. What can't he do?

On the gridiron, Will is a three-phase contributor with a balanced, well-rounded skillset of size, speed, strength, physicality for a 6'1, 185 lb. freshman. He's a natural playmaker who is always around the football and effective 1v1 tackler from his ILB or OLB position, and he's got some serious juice as a tailback as well. The 285 lber. demonstrates elusiveness, shiftiness, and lateral agility as a ball carrier, as well as the toughness to run behind his pads and finish carries with physicality. Good vision as a tailback as well. Future looks bright for this young buck, whether that's the gridiron, hockey rink, or baseball diamond.

Back to Mankato West for our final football/hockey hybrid standout! The Scarlet's 2027 standout [player_tooltip player_id='1306596' first='Hudson' last='Clarksean'] is legitimately one of the most dynamic and interesting prospects I've covered in my time with PRZMN. I still remember the first time I saw the eye-catcher - then a freshman - at the Minnesota Gophers' prospect camp, and boy was he defined for his age. He's gone onto to play a ton of varsity minutes at a variety of different positions but as a junior has settled into his natural position at LB now that he's an upperclassman. Clarksean is also the owner of some eye-popping track numbers for his size (46'11" shot put, 132'4" discus, 11.48 100M, 22.99 200M), and he's adding to his versatile resume in the winter by performing for Mankato West's now state-qualifying varsity hockey team, logging an appearance this season for the Scarlets booming hockey squad.

However, his best work undoubtedly comes on the football field, where the junior, who now reports to measure in at 6'2, 215, tallied 71 tackles (1st on team), 10 TFLs (1st on team), 5 sacks (1st on team) in 2025 for a strong junior campaign in Minnesota's Class 5A. Clarksean shows rangy play speed and runs the alley with effectiveness as well as aggression, and he sees and sifts through traffic smoothly and efficiently in search of the pigskin and works up and under climbing iOL around the box. The 210ish-pounder takes great angles to the football and scrapes flat across the LOS effectively and is a productive blitzer who closes and gets hip to hip with hesitating QBs before they can react. He man-handled and rag-dolled some ball-carriers in 2025 to highlight his strength and physicality as a ILB, which all came together visually against Mahtomedi. Clarksean had a very impressive 1v1 goal line tackle against Mahtomedi that saw him stuff the Zephyrs RB right at the 1-yard line, pad to pad, sticking him and freezing him right in his tracks before running his feet for a big showing of power and thumping ability. Also suplexed a Mahtomedi RB later in the game in WWE-esque fasion. If Clarksean can post the athletic numbers he seems to be displaying on tape this summer on the Summer Camp Circuit he'll be our biggest stock riser come next update! Stay tuned!
