Illinois Class of 2028 Rankings Rocketeers

A fresh update of the rankings for Illinois Class of 2028 is imminent. Who was added? Who rose? Here's a group that flew up the list after the 2025 season.    [player_tooltip player_id='1688538' first='Jameer' last='Miles'] showed up to the PRZ Stock Up Showcase Illinois and put up elite level testing numbers with 4.63x40, 10'2 broad jump, 6.9 L cone at 6040 195 as a sophomore. He clearly possesses the ideal length and athletic ability as a second level player, with a lean frame that is primed to explode with size and mass. Miles is an off the ball backer aligned at multiple positions on the outside and in the middle. He shows exceptional athleticism in space, an explosive overall athlete. Delivers physicality at the point of attack, defeating blocks or sending himself through a ball carrier. He comes with intent to inflict pain, a heat seeking missile in pursuit. Plays the run and pass at a high level. Miles has great traits at his age with massive growth potential.     [player_tooltip player_id='1688392' first='DeAngelo' last='Coates'] emerged in 2025 for the State Runners Up Dons. The three sport athlete does a great job using his frame and length to his advantage at the catch point. A fluid strider, Coates comes off the ball with great urgency, runs routes with instincts, and catches the ball away from his body with soft and sudden hands. Coates displays the willingness to be physical and block for his teammates on the perimeter. After recovering from a 2024 cut short, Coates performed at a high level last Fall in his first opportunity as a playmaker on varsity.     Sivels is listed as big as 6040 210 playing multiple positions, lining up wide at receiver and on the line at tight end and h-back. Sivels is a long, fluid, smooth runner with a long stride in the open field. He extends his long arms to make the catch away from his body and can separate from defenders after the catch with space in front of him. Sivels plays with physicality out of the tight end positions showing good physical willingness at the point of attack. The young receiver is an emerging developmental prospect with notable physical and athletic traits, and assuming a physical growth pattern that fills his frame, could end up growing into the F-TE position, creating mismatches all over the football field.     [player_tooltip player_id='1621319' first='Brock' last='Thompson'] transferred into the Chicagoland area in 2025 from De La Salle (CA), finding a home at Loyola Academy. After playing both ways as a freshman, Thompson settled in on the offensive line as a sophomore, playing every position on the line for the Ramblers, but projecting inside at the next level. At his age, his size is already major Division I ready. Thompson is a loose and fluid big athlete, that can get out in space and move, and will exert his physical nature on his blocking assignment. Off the ball, Thompson delivers strong hands into the defender, can climb to the second level, shows lateral agility, and has an edge to his on field demeanor. As Thompson continues to develop his play strength and fundamentals, his ability to already play all three inside is highly valuable.     [player_tooltip player_id='1565277' first='Quincy' last='Fulton'] is a well built, physically mature looking athlete for his age. Fulton is a two sport prospect with a baseball background, that executes a variety of roles on both sides of the ball between the white lines. On offense, he lines up at receiver, tight end, tailback and wildcat quarterback. Defensively, Fulton is a second level player at several linebacker positions. In the open field as a ball carrier, Fulton displays good contact balance, vision in traffic and MYM ability. He attacks the ball in the passing game. Fulton carries the ball with aggressiveness and physicality. He looks the ball in as a receiver and uses his hands at the catch point. Fulton rarely goes down on initial contact. He accumulates YAC with good secondary burst upfield that typically ends in big gains. Fulton is a football player with interesting developmental upside and potential.
