We spend our Wedesnday afternoon with the specialists in South Dakota that make this class a good one. There are muliple prospects on this list that you should see playing college football, but this list also includes the biggest stockriser amongst specialists, a three-year starter in 11AAA, and more!

The sample size for field goals for Carter is on the lighter side but what we see there is a kicker that has sound distance and hangtime from around 40+ yards. He also shows on his field goals that there is good poise at his disposal to stay the course even when the snap is mishandled, Carter is able to lock in quickly and get the ball off. He shows off a great kickoff leg that also shows off good and growing hangtime to get the ball more air-time for his special teams unit to get downfield as most kicks end up around the 5-yard line consistently. The more opportunities Carter could get on field goals could certainly move him up our 2027 SD specialist board.

Easily the biggest frame in this specialist group comes out of Mobridge-Pollock's [player_tooltip player_id='1320906' first='Shooter' last='Frederick']. The 6'5 185 pounder has a long leg that has plenty of upside, as even his kicks that didn't have all the gas still show off plenty of leg from distance. He has crushing distance on field goals that if the Tigers put the ball on the 30-yard line or less, Shooter could surely give you a chance for three points. I also was impressed with his poised mechanics that he showed off in his follow through as there is plenty of consistency across the board for our KP3 in the 2027 South Dakota class.

Ryder has been the starting kicker for Sioux Falls Washington since he was a freshmen with the Warriors, and comes in as our KP2 in this 2027 South Dakota class. Since that time, he's gotten much better depth with his hangtime on his kicks as of course distance has been added to his resume as a multi-sport athlete that also plays soccer for the Warriors in the fall. He's one that more offseason tape will pay him off some dividends, as one that has a good shot to kick at the college level.

Easily the best three-way athlete on our KP list for the 2027 South Dakota class is Warner's [player_tooltip player_id='1264936' first='Alec' last='Mikkelsen'] who takes over the KP1 spot here in the rankings. The 6'1 210 pounder, not only has great hangtime and length on his field goals and a long kickoff leg, but also has a great football IQ as an all-around athlete for the Monarchs. I like how twitchy he is as a defensive end getting off the snap as his ability to progress quickly into the backfield sticks out on numerous reps. He's also a sound red-zone threat at the tight end position giving Alec not only the nod for best K/P in class, but the athleticism is another area that gives him position flexibility at the next-level. Also the biggest stockriser in this 2027 group of specialists.
