Prep Redzone Next New Jersey Camp: Defensive Line Notebook, Pt. 1

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>As customary with my event coverage, I feverishly write as many notes as I can, as quickly as I can, in order to report on as many prospects as I can. In this feature from Prep Redzone Next's New Jersey Exposure Camp, I share my positional notes for the group aforementioned in this article's title. More coverage on different groups will be forthcoming in the days to follow, so be sure to check back later!</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Defensive Line Notebook</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Typically when I write about a Mclain, yes, they are outstanding defenders; however, to-date they have all been members of the defensive secondary. [player_tooltip player_id='1525090' first='Nahdir' last='Mclain'] bucks that trend. A defensive lineman, the current 8th grader got home a few times with an outstanding bull rush - although at times he seemed to burry his head into his opponent's chest to do so... Unfortunately I did not get that long of a look at [player_tooltip player_id='1893954' first='Brian' last='Foster'], who was named amongst the event's top performers along the defensive line. The bit that I did catch was how Foster used his hands. He must keep them working when pass rushing due to the fact that he might miss and they will be fighting back too.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Should I go in or should I go out? This was the question [player_tooltip player_id='1891565' first='Ahmad' last='Clanton'] found himself contemplating when he was across from offensive linemen. After beating his opponent off the edge with speed, Clanton worked himself in an idea position where he had a two-way go - he could not be wrong. One thing Clanton can be more conscientious of is his rips, and finishing them... Much good can be caused with a good get off - which is something that [player_tooltip player_id='2089257' first='Kaiden' last='Varlack'] flashed at times.
