One of the teams that went on a surprise run to the UNI-Dome after a 2-2 start, including a 22-point loss to 1A Iowa City Regina early on in the year, Wilton will have a chance to ride the momentum into next season with another trip to Cedar Falls.

Led by a trio of juniors on the offensive side of the ball, quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='2053765' first='Gunner' last='Edwards'] returns after completing 162-of-282 passes (57.4%) for 1,873 yards and 17 touchdowns.

His most productive receiver in 2025, [player_tooltip player_id='2057045' first='Bryer' last='Putman'] is also back after catching 36 passes for 679 yards and ten touchdowns. The Beavers lose three senior wideouts, but if Putman takes his game to the next level, he and Edwards could be an elite duo. Edwards did throw 14 picks on the season, half of which came in the final five games of the year, The Beavers still pulled off wins in four of the five contests, and if he can minimize the turnovers during his senior campaign and complete more passes, Wilton could be one of the better offenses in the state.

[player_tooltip player_id='2053762' first='Noah' last='Gray'] led the rushing attack, taking 171 carries for 918 yards (5.4 yards per carry) and ten scores, and he'll be back to help balance the Beaver offense. Edwards also ran for 452 yards and five touchdowns on 107 carries.

Defense:

Defensively, just one of the top six tacklers on the Wilton defense in 2025 returns in [player_tooltip player_id='2053760' first='Corban' last='Burford']. Still a relatively productive junior campaign, Burford posted 52 tackles, including six tackles-for-loss (TFLs). A senior next season, Burford will be looked to to have a big last year of high school ball for the Beavers.

Putman will also look to replicate what he did defensively, as he finished tied for the team-lead in interceptions with six, including one pick-six, and adding 32 tackles. Oliver Grings was also key in the defensive backfield alongside Putman, finishing with 35 tackles and four interceptions.
