In what was a bit of a surprise commitment, Bryer Putman Bryer Putman 6'5" | 195 lbs | WR/DB Wilton | 2027 State IA committed to Boise State at the beginning of June, as he’s set to play tight end for the Broncos. A productive receiver and defensive back for Wilton, Putman grabbed 36 catches for 679 yards and ten touchdowns, adding 32 tackles and six interceptions defensively for the Beavers last fall.
Standing at 6-foot-5 and 195 pounds, Putman has a ridiculous catch radius, damn good ball skills and a frame that has plenty of room to fill out. What may be his best trait is his ability to come down with the ball in traffic, as he showed on multiple ocassions last season that he could come down with a catch despite double and triple coverage, while also possessing the wheels to rack up some yards after catch.

Wilton’s offense had a bit of a shakeup in 2025, but one player who rose to the occasion and brought some explosiveness to the Beavers’ offense was Bryer Putman Bryer Putman 6'5" | 195 lbs | WR/DB Wilton | 2027 State IA . Putman emerged almost out of nowhere to finish as their leading receiver, finishing with 679 receiving yards on 36 receptions (18.9 YPC) and 10 TDs. He also recorded 6 INTs on defense with 1 returned for a TD and served as the team’s primary kicking specialist. Putman was one of the best receivers when it came to contested catches last season, making some outstanding catches through traffic, winning in 1-on-2 and even 1-on-3 situations, proving an effective down-the-field target for his gun-slinging QB. Wilton’s offense should remain potent entering the 2026 season, and Putman will look to round out his high school career with a potential state championship.

I didn’t know a lot about Putman heading into Wilton’s semifinal matchup with Kuemper Catholic at the UNI-Dome. He flashed an intriguing set of skills and potential for more during the contest. He showed big-play ability on offense, catching three balls for 101 yards, including a 65-yarder. Defensively, he delivered 4.0 tackles, three of which were solo. Putman averaged 42.3 yards on four punts and had one touchback on three kickoffs. He also converted his three point-after-touchdown attempts. That’s goodness in three phases. With height, long arms and a projectable frame capable of easily adding good weight without the loss of agility and athleticism, Putman is firmly on our radar now.
