A ball-hawk in the secondary from Macon, Williams was a quarterback's worst nightmare last season as he picked off an eye-opening nine passes last season as a junior. He reads the quarterback and covers a lot of ground down the field. He tracks the ball well and knows how to make a play on it. In addition to his nine INTs, Williams also showed he can tackle and was one of the more consistent pass defenders across the region. His playmaking ability and knack for finding the football in coverage should allow Williams to see his recruitment really pick up over time.

A sleeper defensive back to know in Southeast Georgia, Rankin is a playmaking defender with consistent hands and ball skills. He's still developing and improving his coverage, but he's shown he can make a big play on a poorly thrown ball in his direction. He shows above-average athleticism, plays the ball well in the air, and just has a knack for making plays. Rankin was one of the most productive 2027 defensive backs in the Brunswick area last fall, picking off five passes in coverage while making 49 tackles. He can play both the run and the pass at a high level and is in store for a strong senior season in 2026.

Another impactful safety with terrific balls skills and natural instincts in coverage, Wallace is a Conyers native who can bait the quarterback into bad throws down the field. He reacts quickly, closes well in coverage, and plays the ball like a receiver. Once he has it, he's looking to score. He breaks on the ball as well as any 2027 defensive back in the area and should see his Prep Redzone ranking increase in the next update after a strong junior season where he picked off five passes in coverage. He also made 54 tackles and broke up six more passes. He's an active, productive defensive back who should see his recruitment pick up over the next several months.

A natural two-way athlete in the Savannah area who shined at both wide receiver and defensive back this fall, Grant was a do-it-all type of player for Richmond Hill who proved early on, even as a junior, that he was one of the more natural athletes in the region. On offense, Grant hauled in 45 passes for just under 600 yards and four touchdowns. As good as he was there, he made just as big of an impact on defense, making 30 tackles and picking off five passes in coverage. He's quick, twitchy, and shows dependable hands when securing the ball. He's a 2027 athlete on the rise who will be an easy addition to the next 2027 Prep Redzone rankings.

Another instinctive defensive back who has a knack for finding the football, Tillmon was one of the most productive defensive backs in West Cobb this fall and made play after play in the secondary for a really strong Harrison team. He shows quick feet, active hands, and knows how to make a big tackle in the open field. He covers a lot of ground down the field and was a consistent weapon in the secondary for the Hoyas defense. As good as he was as a junior, Tillmon has a chance to be one of the county's best next fall as a senior if he continues to work hard and develop his craft.
