. Wallace is a box checker at safety, coming in at all of 6’2 175, and playing even bigger thanks to his length. He has space to fill out, which will help him consistently come downhill and play in the box. He is already hard enough to drop the ball over, but his instincts keep him around the ball and consistently give him a chance to make a play on it. Not much to overthink here. He checks all of the boxes.
Another impactful safety with terrific balls skills and natural instincts in coverage, Wallace is a Conyers native who can bait the quarterback into bad throws down the field. He reacts quickly, closes well in coverage, and plays the ball like a receiver. Once he has it, he’s looking to score. He breaks on the ball as well as any 2027 defensive back in the area and should see his Prep Redzone ranking increase in the next update after a strong junior season where he picked off five passes in coverage. He also made 54 tackles and broke up six more passes. He’s an active, productive defensive back who should see his recruitment pick up over the next several months.
Another promising cornerback with excellent range, strong hands, and the ability to cover down the field, Wallace has a long 6-foot-2 175-pound frame and was a consistent defensive back last season for a Newton program that consistently produces high-level cornerbacks. He’s one of the top 2027 defensive back prospects in metro-Atlanta and will likely see his ranking increase more and more over time. He’s currently ranked as the No. 27 DB and the No. 210 overall prospect in his class according to Prep Redzone.
– Put up crazy numbers defensively this year as an eighth-grader. Stat line sings like the 12 days of Christmas song with: 41 tackles (11 for loss), 7 sacks, 7 pass break up’s, 3 touchdowns, 3 fumble recoveries, two interceptions, a forced fumble–and a partridge in a pear tree
– Multi-sport athlete that is built exactly like a safety entering high school needs to be. Listed at an unverified 6-foot-1 and 170 pounds right now. Though I have a hard time believing the’s that big, he does have good length and size. Walked up to the line and played some cornerback this year too, making it nearly impossible for receivers to get open against him
– Wallace is part of a special 2027 group, that will be at Irmo High School in the fall. While the varsity Yellowjackets are 22-11 over the last three seasons, they have the blessing of welcoming an eighth grade class that dominated their way to conference title this year. How dominant? They won their championship game 50-6
