My colleagues Ed O'Brien and Cole Laing have been posting great breakdowns of this ridiculous talented 2027 class. As we have stated numerous times the Virginia class of 2027 may be one of the best I can remember. I wanted to write on a few kids just outside of our top 100 who you should know will be playing at the next level.

106th- [player_tooltip player_id='1337962' first='Zayden' last='Burks'] Skyline

Zayden 2k Burks saw a nearly 200 spot bump in our most recent ranking coming off his historic season. Burks put a techmo bowl like stat line this past year with 2,234 rushing yards and 10.6 yards per carry. 21 touchdowns in his junior season, he helped the Hawks reach the Region title game, an absolute star. Set to attend our upcoming winter showcase, you will see what I and many others have been saying about this young man for quite some time.

112 [player_tooltip player_id='734908' first='Erik' last='Nelson'] Gar Field

Gar Field linebacker [player_tooltip player_id='734908' first='Erik' last='Nelson'] came back healthy in his junior season and earned all region honors. This was a significant bump to his ranking coming off a major injury, Nelson was outstanding this past season. The Red Wolves middle linebacker will have increased responsibilities next fall with the graduation of Lj Richards, he looks ready for a bigger role. One of the toughest prospects I can remember, Nelson is a sideline to sideline backer.

137 [player_tooltip player_id='1313477' first='Eli' last='Maxie'] Mechanisville

Another hidden gem I am excited to see at our Winter Showcase is Mechanicsville [player_tooltip player_id='1313477' first='Eli' last='Maxie'], this young man can run. He has such a long deceptive stride at receiver standing at 6'2 and 180 lbs.. Covers a lot of ground defensively too which earned All-Metro honors. I will be curious to see which position group he runs with at our showcase, he will have opportunities to do both and I bet he will shine.

135 [player_tooltip player_id='1297629' first='Brian' last='Walrath'] Loudoun Sports Academy

When [player_tooltip player_id='1297629' first='Brian' last='Walrath'] took the starting quarterback reigns over at LSA they were a completely different football team. I said it earlier in the year he looked way more comfortable in Coach Woods offense with an outstanding completion percentage. Walrath went 4-2 as their starter, he has a tremendous deep ball and stands tall in the pocket. You rarely see this big guy (up to 6'4 and 205 lbs.) get rattled, with a new Head coach in the fold for Loudoun Sports Academy, Walrath's ascension should only grow.

158 [player_tooltip player_id='1314751' first='Louis' last='Kenbeng Jr.'] Patriot

One kid I could see getting offers in this next cycle is Patriot's defensive back Louis Kenbeng Jr who saw his stock bump up to 158th overall. He is a 6'2 corner with tremendous ball skills and 3.1 GPA. Kenbeng is a physical defensive back which should line up nicely for him at the next level, he had 27 tackles in 2025. Going into his senior season it will be tough for teams to throw on him regardless of who they line up at receiver.
