Aberdeen Roncalli 2027s to Know

We take a look at more talent that caught our attention in 11B, as the Aberdeen Roncalli Cavaliers are next on our list of players to know and have a handful of next-level grades from at Prep Redzone Dakotas.    Austin is a quarterback that I need more recent tape on but yet shows the flashes that have been their at the quarterback position for the Cavaliers in this 2027 South Dakota class. He's effective with his legs with zone reads as an athlete that you can tell will fight for the extra yards when he needs them. He shows off good ball placement on his intermediate routes and can work his precision with his wide receivers around the edges. Surely one that could be on our 2027 radar real soon.     Cowboy is another athlete out of Aberdeen Roncalli that is light on the tape, but the athletic traits are there when you watch closely. He well-versed getting downhill penetration on the reps I found on tape and has a swarming demeanor locked in with his vision on tape. He's instinctive getting to the point of attack and shows off good pursuit angles getting down to make his tackles. Surely want to see more tape out of this young man upcoming!     The Aberdeen Roncalli Cavaliers currently have our LB3 in our 2027 class in [player_tooltip player_id='1275174' first='Jean' last='Anthony-Thomas'] who has already won a Linebacker MVP at our Prep Redzone Dakotas Showcase and was a top performer in Sioux Falls as just a freshmen a couple years back. For his size, I have been impressed with how quick Jean has become getting off his blocks for a 5'9 190 pounder as you can tell when you watch his 2025 tape how far he's come with getting great positioning and hand placement to progress into the backfield. He shows you in pass coverage that he's developed nicely in that skill area as well, getting in and around the pass-catcher prior to them even knowing the ball is headed their way with his instincts. He also shows that he can be progressively as a run-stopper in the A-gap as Jean flashes as a linebacker that is constantly playing downhill. He also shows off the strength throwing the shotput at nearly 47 feet as just a junior.   <a href="https://x.com/JeanAnthony088">TWITTER</a>     Luke I originally had graded as a wide receiver, but when you watch his tape at the cornerback position, you can see the natural feel he has brewing at that position spot. The 6'2 165 pounder has a great ball-tracking ability and it's evident that this kid plays with a heck of a lot of range and athleticism built in. You also cannot miss on the 1v1 physicality that Luke possesses around the ball as one that can easily defend on all three levels of the field. He's made a lot of pass breakups and key interceptions in his last two seasons for the Cavaliers and grades out as a Saturday prospect in my eyes.     When starting to recruit 2027s from Aberdeen Roncalli, the first priority you will want to make at the linebacker position in 6'4 195 pounder [player_tooltip player_id='1293173' first='Brooks' last='Jett']. The three spot athlete, will be one of the biggest stockrisers I have on my 2027 big board I have coming out later this week. He shows off soft get off hands that with his stellar length, can get to the point of attack quickly and with high frequency downhill. He is highly instinctive and that boosts a high football IQ and is surely the best linebacker the city of Aberdeen and North Central South Dakota has to offer in this 2027 class.
