The Aberdeen Roncalli Cavaliers currently have our LB3 in our 2027 class in Jean Anthony-Thomas Jean Anthony-Thomas 5'8" | 195 lbs | LB Aberdeen Roncalli | 2027 State SD who has already won a Linebacker MVP at our Prep Redzone Dakotas Showcase and was a top performer in Sioux Falls as just a freshmen a couple years back. For his size, I have been impressed with how quick Jean has become getting off his blocks for a 5’9 190 pounder as you can tell when you watch his 2025 tape how far he’s come with getting great positioning and hand placement to progress into the backfield. He shows you in pass coverage that he’s developed nicely in that skill area as well, getting in and around the pass-catcher prior to them even knowing the ball is headed their way with his instincts. He also shows that he can be progressively as a run-stopper in the A-gap as Jean flashes as a linebacker that is constantly playing downhill. He also shows off the strength throwing the shotput at nearly 47 feet as just a junior.

Jean has won a linebacker MVP nod at our Prep Redzone Dakotas Showcase in Aberdeen before, as I will wonder pre-showcase if he can continue that trend going back to back tomorrow as a linebacker prospect that has been kind of a mystery with hardly any tape uploaded last season. He is one though that I recall, you might need to depend on the live eval for his skillsets to do the justice as the instincts that Jean plays with are what got him the nod last time. Easily the biggest new name on defense to me at our combine, came from Aberdeen Roncalli 2027 linebacker Jean Anthony-Thomas Jean Anthony-Thomas 5'8" | 195 lbs | LB Aberdeen Roncalli | 2027 State SD . The frame Jean already has built is built like a mack-truck at 5’8 195 pounds and as this young man caught plenty of eyes and was another name on our first team of linebackers. What popped out for me watching Jean was how much instinctive movement this kid showed off for his age, as there is still such a high ceiling to achieve with several years left of HS football. The versatility Jean shows off on tape, shows me for sure you will see him on our upcoming 2027 rankings as watching him bump over upperclassmen at our Dakotas Combine really caught our eyes.
