The 2029 Watch List has debuted with 125 freshmen prospects to know early on in West Virginia. Plenty more athletes will emerge and make their names known in the future, but here are the top QB names on our radar after their freshmen seasons.

An early top name to know in the West Virginia 2029 quarterback class is Martinsburg's [player_tooltip player_id='1716405' first='Lionel' last='Dorsey']. He was well-known in the youth football circuit and commanded the Bulldogs' freshmen team this season. Dorsey is a high-ceiling prospect with dual-threat capabilities and a quality young frame to continue to build on over the next three years.

[player_tooltip player_id='1716398' first='De'Sean' last='Isabell'] took over as QB1 in the middle of the season for the Capital Cougars and flashed promise in year one as a young quarterback. He's a dual-threat quarterback who will continue to develop as a passer, but has high upside as a runner. Isabell has a good burst when taking off to run and can get vertical quickly when he finds a running lane. He's elusive in the open field and will cause defenses to be uncomfortable for the next three years when defending his legs.

A potential future gem in the 2029 quarterback class and someone who we are high on early is Tyler Consolidated's [player_tooltip player_id='1971724' first='Ashton' last='Morris']. His best film clips are impressive and excite you about his future as a year-one starter for the Knights this season. Morris has good mechanics for his age, especially in his lower body. You can tell he's a good athlete from how he moves in the pocket and effortlessly steps into his throws. Morris should develop nicely over the next three years and be a potentially top QB prospect in the class.

The Huntington Highlanders will be searching for a new QB1 next season after the graduation of [player_tooltip player_id='894642' first='Tayveon' last='Wilson'], and 2029 QB [player_tooltip player_id='1581941' first='Marek' last='Midkiff'] will be in the mix to take over. He saw varsity spot duty as a freshman and commanded the JV team this season after a prolific middle school career. Midkiff has a solid foundation of mechanics to build on moving forward and has a good feel for the position as a young player. His arm strength will improve as he develops physically, but keep a close eye on Midkiff over the next three years to emerge.

The Wheeling Park program steadily produces quarterbacks, and 2029 QB [player_tooltip player_id='1683457' first='Maxx' last='Taylor'] could be the next in line for the Patriots. He did a nice job on their freshman team this season and showcased traits that will carry over into the future as he continues to develop. Taylor is elusive in the pocket and does a nice job of extending plays and using his legs as a plus athlete at the position. He has an unconventional throwing motion, but Taylor has nice touch on his passes and throws accurately.

The Sperringer name has been behind center for the Brooke Bruins for going on a decade now, when 2029 QB Kadem Sperringer likely takes over next season. We covered his older brothers, Braelyn and Ty, but now it's time for Kamden to make himself known. He saw varsity action as a freshman ATH this season and has potential as a quarterback once his time comes. Sperringer has a good young frame and physical tools to be a varsity standout sooner rather than later.

He's a lanky athlete with quality length who will benefit from added size in the future. Blosser did some good things on the Eagles' JV team this season and looks to be a future starter as an upperclassman. He throws with touch and has a catchable ball that will aid his development once he gets stronger and improves arm strength.

Another 2029 quarterback who we saw in the summer before his freshman year and liked was James Monroe's [player_tooltip player_id='1591192' first='Bentley' last='McCroskey']. He transferred from Princeton back to his home school and should be a future starter for the Mavericks. McCroskey has ATH potential and played other positions for the Tigers this season as well that will give him options in the future positionally. His length and athleticism will serve him well as a dual-threat quarterback who's still developing as a passer but can play the position effectively.

Herbert Hoover's [player_tooltip player_id='1958016' first='Ryder' last='Andruzis']' future may be as an ATH, but he'll force his way onto the field one way or another. His effort on special teams stood out on film as a quality athlete with some early size who will help the team in any way that he can. Andruzis can be an option-style quarterback with the athleticism that he has, but he can keep defenses honest with his arm as well. Linebacker may ultimately be his best position in the future, with a very talented sophomore quarterback ahead of him on the depth chart right now.
