Michigan Stock Up Showcase Top Performers: Quarterbacks

He moved well during the testing portion, and showed off the great measurables. Once he got the ball in his hand, he wowed coaches and scouts even more. Great timing, clean footwork and a great release made him a complete package. He led receivers, fit the ball in windows and showed that he can drive the ball downfield. Elite measurables and a ton of upside with his arm. He had multiple throws that were incredibly difficult, and he made them look easy. He moved well in pocket simulation drills and used a quick and snappy release to get the ball to his target in a hurry. Coming from a smaller school, it was great to see him come out and not only compete with the big school kids, but beat a lot of them out straight up. To start, he jumped head first into the testing, typically going first and leading by example. Once he got the ball in his hand, he was really impressive. Moved well during pocket simulation drills, delivering accurate strikes with a tight spiral. You could see him gain more confidence all day long, culminating in a dominant 1 on 1 portion. He was leading receivers, driving the ball on hitches and slants, and flinging it downfield with relative ease on deep balls. He took coaching, applied it and was able to impress during the 1 on 1 portion of the camp. Made some difficult throws, showed off arm strength and clean mechanics. It's always hard to compare 8-Player quarterbacks until these camps, so I'm super glad he came out and competed! He tested well, and moved on par with some of the top athletes at the entire camp. Once we broke into positional drills, he manipulated the pocket well, showed off accuracy and good mechanics. He was able to transition those skills to the 1 on 1 portion nicely. He hit his receivers with good timing, where only they could get it. I saw no issues with arm strength and being able to push the ball vertically. His size put him on my radar early, and I liked the way he moved. Once he got the ball in his hand, he was slinging the ball all over. No route was off limits for him all day long. He had good mechanics and a nice smooth release.
