Expert Analysis
Alex Pallone | Prep Redzone Scout
- A major standout a few years ago as a freshman
- Ideal height with long arms
- Broke passing records as a junior
- Big arm; several impressive 30+ yard throws
- Good off-platform thrower. Additionally, many cross-body throws.
- All-around better tape than I expected. Colleges should do their homework on Madix!

Madix was another top performing 2027 that was on the radar early. Elite measurables and a ton of upside with his arm. He had multiple throws that were incredibly difficult, and he made them look easy. He moved well in pocket simulation drills and used a quick and snappy release to get the ball to his target in a hurry. Coming from a smaller school, it was great to see him come out and not only compete with the big school kids, but beat a lot of them out straight up. Great performance that raises his stock once again!

Madix had himself a very nice week 3 performance, and I’m happy that Vassar is opting to throw the ball at a high volume. His Twitter shows a few of his throws, but he doesn’t currently have anything up on Hudl. His first two highlights show decent passes to the flat/shallow crosser, while the last highlight shows off a strike to the middle of the field. Considering his stats, I don’t have near the full picture, but what I do see is promising.
I was able to watch Madix at the Gateway to North showcase back in the summer, and I was incredibly impressed with his performance there. I hope to see even more from Madix this season and I hope to see him again this offseason!

Madix has been a nice surprise to find this summer. He has ideal size, a really good arm, and the ability to be accurate from a variety of arm slots. I believe his stock is going to skyrocket once people get a view of Madix playing against varsity competition. Be on the lookout for Madix to be a treat to watch!

As I said earlier, the talent at the Gateway to North showcase was pretty hit or miss. The Quarterback group was especially sloppy, except for Madix. Just watching QB drills for a couple of minutes, it was obvious who was the most talented QB. For one, Madix was by far the most consistently accurate QB. A lot of that is thanks to his consistent throwing motion and fundamentals. In all fairness, Madix still needs to work on his footwork and throwing motion, but at least it was consistent.
During 1on1 drills, Madix had a few highlight plays. On deep posts/streaks, Madix had a few perfectly-thrown balls. On quicker slants/outs, Madix hit more than he missed. Like a lot of small-town QBs, he struggled with timing and sometimes held onto the ball for far too long.
Madix is only a 2027 prospect, and he has a ton of time to continually improve. I can’t wait to see how Madix develops over the next few years.
