After further review of the video highlights and observations from coaches in attendance, I wanted to take a minute and highlight one person at each position who was not named a top performer previously for this showcase. These players showed traits that led to success on Friday Nights, and they are important pieces of their respective high school football teams. Let's take a look at these guys!

Chase was an All-Conference player in probably the overall toughest conference in the state, top to bottom. Not only did Chase affect the game as a defensive back, but he was a major factor on special teams in the return game as well. Chase also stepped in on offense at times and made some plays at wide receiver. Chase was added to the Queen City Senior Bowl because of these accolades, and he showed his speed and agility well at this particular showcase.

Makai is continuing to grow into his body physically and shows some high-level talent and potential as an EDGE prospect who is just starting to scratch the surface of how good he can become overall. A lot of his sacks this year came from power-based moves as a sophomore, which is scary. I think Makai shows a good burst off the ball, but if he works on some pass-rush moves to go with that burst consistently, he's really going to tap into his overall potential. The physical talent is there for sure.

Christian came to this showcase as a linebacker to work on his off-ball skills, which is very smart to do in the offseason. I thought he moved well overall throughout the agility circuit and individual portions of the showcase, notably. On his film, Christian shows that he is a hybrid linebacker, edge player who can get to the quarterback with some good hand usage at the point of attack against offensive linemen. Developing his overall game as an EDGE player will further enhance his overall game and get the attention of college football coaches.

I didn't know a lot about Karter coming into this showcase, but he was named an All-Conference OL selection and shows some really good stuff in run blocking on film that you get excited for. So I was glad to see him come to this showcase and show relatively well in pass protection also. As Karter works this offseason, I could see him doing well at some local college camps in the spring and getting onto their radars as a potential prospect.

Hudson was a previous top performer at the CFI Carolinas Mega Showcase last May, and he showed some more good things while in attendance here as well. Hudson was named an All-Conference quarterback for this past season, and I thought he did well with what he had to work with. The Trojans excelled a lot in the running game this past season, so Hudson took advantage of the opportunities given to him. His physical frame and strong arm are enough to generate interest from colleges, but in the current recruiting environment, he will just have to remain patient, as quarterbacks are facing more and more challenges from the transfer portal than ever.

Kyngston is a highly decorated player from his area, as he is a two-time offensive MVP for his team, while also being a two-time all-conference player. Kyngston's speed and power combination is ideally what you look for in a bellcow-type of running back, and Kyngston can definitely carry the load for his offense all night long. I like that he came out of his comfort zone and tested himself in doing some things in the passing game that he can take and work on more this offseason for spring /summer college football camps coming up soon.

Dominik is one of my favorite players because this past season, he did whatever was asked of him on offense to try and help his team win. I think he's very dynamic as a wide receiver, but for a good portion of this season, his team needed him at quarterback, and he gave them everything he had. I think with a full offseason dedicated to being a wide receiver, Dominik can become a dominant threat on the outside with his speed and route-running ability, which I saw on display at this showcase.
