2027 Rankings Preview

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The New 2027 Virginia Rankings Class will be posted tomorrow evening and there should be a ton of movement. Over 400 kids will be ranked and 100 plus have been added to our watchlist, their will be a lot to dissect. Going through this class rapidly and hopefully thoroughly I wanted to share a few thoughts below:</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Saint James Academy already making an impact</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='402761' first='Darren' last='Williams'] (Henrico), [player_tooltip player_id='1312062' first='Camden' last='Simmons'] (Riverbend), [player_tooltip player_id='1311634' first='Kenaz' last='Sullivan'] (North Stafford) and [player_tooltip player_id='1633058' first='Cartier' last='Carey'] (Warwick) are a few of the bigger names in this class that have announced their intentions to transfer to Saint James Academy. Incredible to see the impact Coach Overton is having not even approaching his second season with the Strivers, all four will be ranked tomorrow. Sullivan and Simmons are coming off all state campaigns while Williams and Cariey have received interest from the next level. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>The Quarterback room is loaded</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='521793' first='Lonnie' last='Andrews'], [player_tooltip player_id='1115083' first='Kash' last='Carter'], [player_tooltip player_id='1297629' first='Brian' last='Walrath'] Jr., [player_tooltip player_id='1313518' first='Owen' last='Working'] all should see rankings boost tomorrow and they are not alone in this position group. The 2027 class has close to 200 kids with a Division 1 or higher grade and I have potentially 10 quarterbacks that can play major college football. Think about that for a second, the 2026 group has maybe 5 qbs who will play FBS or higher football and this class has close to 10 if not more. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Expect some shakeups at the top</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Cole Laing and I have been telling you since last season this class was special, expect some big shakeups from our original top 10. This 2027 class has a chance to go down as the best in Virginia history and we are not joking. We may be biased but when you grade close to 200 prospects with a Division 1 indication and they haven't even entered their final year of high school football that is really saying something. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
