Touchdown Machines- Who Lived In The End Zone This Year?

Welcome to this edition of Touchdown Machines!   We're looking back at this season and watching some of the guys who constantly found the endzone this year.   These guys are seriously talented and deserve more eyes, so we're diving into the film room to see what's what!    [player_tooltip player_id='1196862' first='Alijah' last='Woods'] is a talented junior ATH from Reeltown who made a huge impact both on offense and defense this year.   "Woods has been highly productive as both an electric wide receiver and hard-hitting strong safety. Woods is coming off a big freshman season that saw him make a ton of plays out wide and in coverage.   He plays with a bunch of speed, aggression, and physicality that separate him from others on the field. Woods constantly finds himself around the ball making plays- he consistently gains separation and makes catches, and is a terrific tackler that can make plays on the ball in coverage as well."   Woods was unstoppable again this year, recording 60 carries for 892 yards and 17 TDs on the ground, 28 receptions for 717 yards and 9 TDs, and several huge stops on defense.   I've been really impressed with Woods for a while now. He's a talented and dynamic player with the ball who can affect the game in so many different ways. We all need to look out for him heading into next season. Until then, be sure to check out his film below:      [player_tooltip player_id='1752037' first='Tyler' last='Thomas'] is a dominant RB from Oakman who had a massive senior season on the ground this fall.   "Physically, Thomas has everything you want in an RB. He's 6'0 205, can withstand contact, and has great vision, speed, and acceleration he uses to break off some huge gains on the ground.   I'm most impressed with how efficient Thomas is. He doesn't need much help to succeed- he's excellent at following blockers and fighting through contact to maximize every carry he gets. So often on tape, you can watch him quickly and easily take the ball upfield to gash defenses on the ground; it's super impressive to watch."   Thomas had a massive senior season, recording 203 carries for 1809 yards and 28 TDs on the ground and six receptions for 74 yards and one TD through the air.   It was awesome watching Thomas play out his senior year the way he did. He's a tough runner who made some jaw-dropping plays this season. If you haven't watched him already, make sure you check out his film below:      [player_tooltip player_id='1852747' first='MaCarri' last='Johnson'] had another unbelievable season for West Morgan's offense this fall, creating a huge impact on his team's run game.   "Johnson is explosive with the ball in his hands. He's quick out of the backfield, has great vision, and impressive speed/acceleration he uses to carve up defenses on the ground. Once Johnson gets into the open field, good luck stopping him. He can easily separate and outrun defenders; it's impressive to watch.   I'm most impressed with Johnson's contact balance. He is fantastic at staying on his feet and consistently shakes off defenders to keep plays moving upfield."   Johnson had another huge year on the ground this fall. He racked up 213 carries for 1799 yards and 28 TDs on the ground, and another 13 catches for 153 yards through the air.   Johnson has had a ridiculous two-year stretch for West Morgan, making the most out of every opportunity and creating some ridiculous highlight plays through the process. If you haven't watched him before, make sure you check him out below:      [player_tooltip player_id='695078' first='Jaxon' last='Penn'] is a talented ATH from Mars Hill who primarily made his presence felt on the defensive side of the ball until this season.   "Penn lines up at CB and can come away with a ton of impressive plays out in coverage- he's incredibly quick, isn't easily beat, and is great at using his hands to break up and intercept passes. Penn thrives in press-man coverage with how physical he is-he wears down WRs at the line of scrimmage, practically runs their routes for them, and also uses his hands to make plays on the ball.   Penn is just as good at defending the run. He's a strong tackler who can make a lot of impressive plays out in pursuit down by the line of scrimmage and in the open field.   On top of Penn's defensive skill, he's been unbelievable as a running back this year. His mix of speed, elusiveness, and contact balance makes him a dominant ball carrier out of the backfield. It was incredible seeing what he achieved on the ground this fall."   Penn was insanely productive this fall. Through 12 games, he recorded 83 carries for a staggering 1451 yards and 28 TDs, 4 receptions for 108 yards and one TD, and 6 INTs/88 total tackles on defense. [player_tooltip player_id='1536089' first='Joshua' last='Douthard'] is a do-it-all athlete for St. Clair County who found ways to produce out wide, out of the backfield, and on defense this year.   “On offense, Douthard is a dominant WR/RB who can come up with explosive plays wherever he lines up. At WR, Douthard plays with a ton of speed, runs impressive routes, and consistently takes the top off of defenses for huge plays in the passing game. Douthard uses the same game-breaking speed out of the backfield- he has great vision and breakaway speed that he uses to turn up and make huge plays in the open field.   Defensively, Douthard is a dominant DB with great ball skills who can make a ton of plays on the ball out in coverage. I'm impressed with his instincts and timing out in the secondary- he flies around the field and puts himself in great position to come up with stops against the run and pass.“   Douthard was unstoppable this year. He ended the season with 73 catches for 1101 yards and 20 TDs, 22 carries for 155 yards and 5 TDs, and 2 INTs/9 PBUs on defense.   I'm a HUGE fan of Douthard. He's one of the top talents in our state's 2027 class for a reason. What he's been able to accomplish for St. Clair County early on in his career has been extremely impressive.
