All eyes will be on the 8 games at Ford Field this weekend. It's a high school football holiday, as the top two teams in each division duke it out for all the marbles. Each year, we see several rising sophomores helping lead their teams to Ford Field. Usually, these sophomores become household names for years to come. Let's take at five prominent sophomores getting ready to gear up for State Championship Football.

I don't think Unity Christian has seen a quarterback like Drew this season.

Drew is the #1 difference maker for the Divine Child offense this weekend. I've seen Drew on film, and I just watched him in person last weekend. Not the most high-volume passing offense, but when Drew has the opportunity to throw, he's incredibly efficient and accurate. Great at throwing off-platform and has the consistent mechanics necessary for consistently good ball placement. Plus, his timing is a tick better than most QBs. A budding star who has absolutely improved since last season, I'm excited to see how Drew does under the bright lights.

Army is one of many Cass Tech underclassmen taking the field to defend their State Title. Primarily a safety, Army has the tall task of defending DCC's elite receiving core. The Gash brothers are excellent downfield threats, but watch the tape, and you'll see that Army is smart enough and fast enough to defend anyone. Plus, he's good at tacking in the open field. Good at wrapping up and driving the ballcarrier backwards.

Whether Army is defending the middle third or playing press man, I feel that he'll perform well. I confidently consider Army a future Power 4 college football player.

I had the opportunity to see Grant two weeks ago against Carlson. I've got to say, I'm happy with how he's developed in these past couple of years. Listed size seems accurate, and he's a touch faster than you'd expect. Footwork is coming along nicely, as is his pass set and punch. I also watched Grant cover some ground and execute more difficult second-level blocks.

Blocking the elite St. Mary's defensive line will be an excellent challenge for Grant. I'm looking forward to watching him compete against some of the best that Michigan has to offer.

Agent 0 for Cass Tech has been playing phenomenally as a sophomore. Primarily a receiver, Mylan has proven to be a substantial threat in all areas of the field. His tape showcases everything from 5-yard comebacks to double-move corners. A large route tree and a super fluid athlete. All-around route running is good- footwork can be improved on some routes, but his athletic ability mostly makes up for any minor errors. Flashes of great open-field ability, like 1:12 in his highlight tape.

Additionally, Mylan has earned a substantial number of reps at corner. That same athletic ability shows up, as does good reaction time and physicality. Another Cass Tech prospect who will likely play at a Power 4 school one day- he's a big name to watch.

Likely the most underrated prospect on this list, Beckett has been phenomenal for Hudson this season.

There are a few things that stand out to me on Beckett's highlight tapes. The first thing that stands out is Bekcett's patience and vision. He does a phenomenal job of following his blocks and seems to know the perfect time to burst through the hole. Additionally, he's a running back who makes a habit of falling forward when he's being tackled, always earning an extra yard or two. That said, he's also quite balanced throughout his carries and does a good job staying upright for as long as he can.

Beckett has been a massive part of Hudson's state championship run, and he's only a sophomore. I'm very excited to see how Beckett progresses in the coming years, and I'm excited to watch him perform at Ford Field this weekend!
