Grant is a nasty offensive lineman that is only getting better. He passes the eye test with everything that he does. He moves well, blocks until the whistle, and buries opponents. He pass blocks well, with great balance and agility. His technique is superior to most in his class, and the physicality is hard to match. An all around offensive lineman that is versatile enough to play just about anywhere on the line. I firmly believe if he gets out to some camps this spring, he could see some offers roll his way.

Grant has already shown that he has come to work this offseason. Just a few days ago, Davis came out and worked at our Stock Up Showcase, and put together a really good day. Davis has solid size, quick feet and a strong base. He has long arms that allows him to pack a great punch to the rusher, and he is able to absorb anything thrown his way. Dexter has been developing offensive linemen recently, and Grant is certainly on his way to being one of the next ones up!

Davis is a 2028 offensive lineman from Dexter. While he measured in at 6’1 he had an astounding 80.5″ wingspan and 9.75″ hands. He has a thick frame. He has good quickness. I like his anchor when pass rushers try and go through him. He has quickness to cut off the defender when they try and shoot the gap. If he can just become more confident and sounder in his footwork, I think he can take his game to another level.

I had the opportunity to see Grant two weeks ago against Carlson. I’ve got to say, I’m happy with how he’s developed in these past couple of years. Listed size seems accurate, and he’s a touch faster than you’d expect. Footwork is coming along nicely, as is his pass set and punch. I also watched Grant cover some ground and execute more difficult second-level blocks.
Blocking the elite St. Mary’s defensive line will be an excellent challenge for Grant. I’m looking forward to watching him compete against some of the best that Michigan has to offer.

Grant’s 2024 tape is promising. With a lot of improvement this offseason, he could fight for a Varsity spot.
He did his job last season on the JV / Freshman team. A couple of good pancakes showing some power, and a couple decent pass blocks showing he can be a brick wall. Though, if Grant wants to be a great Varsity lineman, he needs to vastly improve his footwork and overall athleticism.
Watch list for now- hopefully Grant can earn a ranking by early next year!

There are VERY few offensive linemen on my radar in the class of 2028. Most of the time, offensive linemen bloom a tad later than the skill positions. Considering Grant is already pretty well-repped at offensive tackle, he has a great chance to develop into a phenomenal lineman.
Looking at Grant’s Twitter, there’s a few video-taped reps from various offseason camps that he’s attended. From the Hope camp, Grant’s footwork was quite sloppy BUT I really like how active Grant’s hands are. Clean up that footwork, and Grant looks like a solid senior when it comes to pass pro.
Moving forward, Grant should focus on learning and improving as much as he can this season. If he grows a few more inches, he’ll project well as a college tackle. If he doesn’t grow, he can still be a phenomenal guard. It’s too early to tell just how good Grant will be, but I do expect him to develop into a college prospect and a dang good varsity lineman.

Enough with the skill guys listed above! Less than nine miles from The Big House and the Wolverines, sits Dexter, Michigan and 2028 prospect Grant Davis. Listed at 6-foot-2, and I’m assuming 225 pounds or more, he’s a two-way tackle that caught my eye on film. The initial thing that popped out to me, was his apparent strength. He’s a patient offensive tackle that lets the opposition pick their poison and then makes them pay. While some linemen at this level will standout because of their size and sheer domination in the size and strength categories, Davis standouts because he has those traits, plus a natural ease at the position(s). Defensively, he overwhelms guys and fights his way into the backfield on a consistent basis. I’m not ready to stamp him as the next starting tackle for the maize and blue, but with enough work I can see him playing at that level in the future.
