Now that I'm back at my desk, I'm going through my mental rolodex of what I witnessed. The results will be a "Guys on the Rise" series of fresh scouting reports from what I saw.

Saint Ansgar features a roster full of interesting college prospects despite being one of the state's smaller schools. The Saints showed that during the Iowa semifinals at the UNI-Dome. They defeated Wapsie Valley by getting contributions throughout the lineup. One of the top performances came from senior [player_tooltip player_id='2058991' first='Connor' last='Mullenbach']. The two-way standout rushed for 41 yards and his lone reception went for 20 yards. He delivered three solo tackles and three pass breakups on defense. But the highlight of the day was an 83-yard kick return to the house. Mullenbach also averaged 16.5 yards on a pair of punt returns. The uncommitted senior is worth a look from plenty of colleges.

I was familiar with [player_tooltip player_id='1905875' first='Joe' last='Clevenger'] and members of the family that proceeded him at Saint Ansgar. [player_tooltip player_id='2059000' first='Matt' last='Clevenger'] was a pop up prospect for me when scouting the Saints' semifinal victory against Wapsie Valley at the UNI-Dome. The sophomore delivered 9.0 tackles, 1.5 stops for loss, a pass breakup and a quarterback hurry during a dominant defensive effort. He embarked on the championship game with 43.0 tackles (29 solo, 6.5 TFL), a forced fumble and a pair of fumble recoveries. Clevenger averaged 24.3 yards on three kick returns, too. He appears to just be scratching the surface of his considerable upside as a long-limbed athlete that can run. Clevenger will be one to watch moving forward.

As far as I can tell via Google search, Riordan is an uncommitted senior. That's a bit surprising after watching him operate against Saint Ansgar during the state semifinals at the UNI-Dome. I could see him helping a number of college programs on either side of the ball. He also has plenty of room for development to determine a position down the road. Riordan moves well and displays smooth footwork as a blocker. On the other side of the trench, he competes with good pad level and uses his hands effectively. In this game, he came up with 8.0 tackles, four of which were solo. He also did his job in the O-Line.

MMCRU fields a team filled with long-limbed athletes capable of helping out in multiple areas and could project at several positions on the next level. Mulder fits that description, showing a lot of promise during the Class A semifinals against West Sioux at the UNI-Dome. The uncommitted senior rushed for 39 yards and caught three passes for 40 more, including a 22-yard scoring grab. Mulder had three solo stops among his 4.0 total tackles, adding a pass breakup and a quarterback hurry to further illustrated his broad set of skills. He certainly would be an asset on special teams as well.

Of the many things that impressed me in watching MMCRU defeat West Sioux in the state semifinals, the size and physicality of its offensive line was at or near the top of the list. Of that group, Hill was one that stuck out. Operating at the right guard position, he controlled his opponent throughout the contest. The junior showed a good feel for dealing out combo blocks and taking out multiple defenders. Hill moves his weight around very well, consistently reaching blocks and getting to the second level. Colleges needing help up front should get Hill into camps this coming spring and summer.

I was impressed with what I saw from West Sioux during its game against MMCRU in the state semifinals at the UNI-Dome. Gerritson was one of the Falcons that shined the brightest. He hauled in four passes for 82 yards and led them in tackles with 14. Eight of those stops were of the solo variety. Gerritson is an angular athlete that runs well. His projectable frame is capable of adding good weight and strength, leaving the door open for position flexibility on the next level. And rest assured, he has college potential. He finished his junior campaign ranking second on his team with 38 catches for 556 yards and was tied for the lead with six touchdown grabs. Gerritson piled up 78.0 tackles (63 solo, 7.5 TFL), a sack, four fumble recoveries and an interception.
