10. Curtis (Last Week, NR)

The Curtis Warriors are the first new squad to reach the top ten in the Week Nine rankings The Staten Island Squad sits at 8-1 on the season, and has one final game remaining on year, with a date against another top ten school in Tottenville. Curtis has key wins against squads like Lincoln, North Rockland, St. Peter's, and New Dorp. Their lone loss on the year came from a 35-19 defeat at the hands of Erasmus Hall. Curtis started the year with key 2026 ATH [player_tooltip player_id='402247' first='Will' last='Andrade'] out, and with him back in the lineup, this offense is rolling. The Warriors have secured the Third Seed in the PSAL 4A league, and a win against Tottenville, will be a huge test as they move towards the playoffs.

9. William Floyd (Last Week, NR)

The Mastic Beach Monsters, as they are nicknamed are my top squad on Long Island. The Colonials, started the season with a close 21-20 OT win against Sachem North, and since have shut out 4/7 opponents to move to 8-0 on the year. With teams like Garden City, and Sayville on the Island, The Colonials will have to likely beat one of them to claim the Long Island Championship. Why has William Floyd had the season they had? One name, Jaquan Thomas. The Senior RB, is the best in the state this year and has created a deadly rushing attack, behind a dominant trench with guys like [player_tooltip player_id='1345036' first='Matthew' last='Benjamin'], and Thomas Alfaro serving up pancakes every game. The Playoffs kick off this weekend, and I expect Floyd to make a deep run this season.

8. Shenendehowa (Last Week, NR)

The Plainsmen make their first appearance in the top ten, and sit at 8-1 on the season. The Section Two squad has one loss which comes at the hands of their Section Foe CBA-Albany. With key wins against Saratoga Springs, Guilderland, Niskayuna, and Shaker, the Plainsmen are ready to kick off the playoffs this weekend with a rematch against Saratoga Springs. The Plainsmen, have relied on the run this season, with 15 players combining for 26 touchdowns, and 1,867 yards on the ground, on just 285 carries. Led by [player_tooltip player_id='1649142' first='Jack' last='Clawson'], Shenendehowa, can also throw the ball, and is a team that is hard to plan against.

7. CBA-Albany (Last Week, 9)

The Brothers are the top team in Section Two. In their first playoff matchup, the Class AA #1 Seed, will face Colonie Central, with a trip to head back to the championship. The Beginning of September was rough for Coach Burns and his squad, as the Albany team faced two loses from Monsignor Farrell, and CBA-Syracuse. Since these two loses, the Brothers have won seven straight games against with wins coming against teams like Shaker, Shenendehowa, Saratoga Springs, and Colonie Central last week. I like the Brother's but their strength of schedule, and loses outside of their Section make them a tough team to rank.

6. Tottenville (Last Week, 7)

Tottenville is by far the top team the PSAL. The Pirates stand at 9-0 on the season. The Pirates have key wins against Erasmus Hall, Lincoln, Wagner, and South Shore. To end the season, I see Tottenville, with their biggest test, as they face Curtis, who has one loss on the year. This matchup won't affect seeding in the PSAL for the Pirates, but a win against the Staten Island Squad will secure them as the top team on the Island and the PSAL. Tottenville will likely finish the season as a top five team, and I will be watching this Curtis matchup closely this weekend, in what will be one of the top games in the State.
