Benjamin is staying home. The William Floyd lineman, can play on both trenches but I like him mainly on the offensive side. He will be taking his talents to Long Island University, staying right in his backyard next season.
His footwork, and hands are elite for a lineman and standout on tape. I like his ability to beat his opponents to the POA, and he has great strength at the LOS. Benjamin, understands leverage, and with his hand placement can create gaps across the line in Run Pro Reps. In Pass Pro reps, he has showed elite footwork, moving with opposing rushers. Benjamin is a future Long Island Star.
Congratulations Matthew!

One of the ultimate breakout players so far this summer. Benjamin went to camps such as Boston College, the Suffolk County Football Showcase, and LIU, among others, and produced at a high level. He has great size at 6’5”, 275 pounds, and in camp reps, he used his length to his advantage. His hands and footwork stood out, along with the aggressiveness that most William Floyd linemen possess. Benjamin’s success ultimately led to a few offers, and he made his commitment to LIU this week. The attention surrounding Benjamin will only continue to rise.

Big proponent of Matthew Benjamin and he nearly earned a top performer spot but just missed the cut. Regardless Benjamin is a Division 1 prospect for William Floyd High School, he more than proved that last week. He is 6’5 and 260 lbs. of solid muscle, the sky is the limit for the rising senior. Good testing numbers and second team all camp honors, this dude should be on many Division 1 coaches radar.

shows up then this is going to be a fun night. A top 120th ranked prospect from the Empire State’s 2026 class, Benjamin has all the measurable and traits to play major college football.
Covering many different showcases this month I have come to notice the out of state kids on hand tend to bring it. Whether that is in the testing or individual drills, the out of state kids have come ready to compete and I love it. Expect more of the same from this behemoth, he has star power written all over him.

. With his massive size comes long limbs, which he certainly used to his advantage. Benjamin used his long limbs to gain optimal positioning and cut off angles that defenders sought. Additionally, he routinely beat his matchup to those spots because of his quick feet.

Benjamin is a very intriguing prospect because of his athleticism and body frame – a very long and lean tackle prospect; Benjamin moves well – A player who you can tell doesn’t have much experience with athletic testing. I resort to the tape and the INDY/1v1s to evaluate his movement skills.
Benjamin showed some strong flashes, and he was athletically one of the only tackles to have competitive reps with the top smaller DEs and King Mercer. Technique-wise, Benjamin was a little inconsistent, but on the reps where he showed a more aggressive approach to pass pro, he was often able to win.
Bulking up will be important for the next level, but there is a lot to like with Benjamin’s game at this point.
