this upcoming season. The playmaker from Floyd has very intriguing measurables—he’s listed at 6’2” and 220 pounds—and is the returning rushing leader on all of Long Island. Thomas could easily run for over 2,000 yards this season. He’s hard to bring down and has a knack for pulling off big runs. He’s also a terrific linebacker and could receive college looks at that position too. His size and athleticism are a great fit for the next level. He already holds an offer from Stony Brook.

26. Ja’Quan Thomas
6’1, 222 pounds. Is a three-sport athlete over at William Floyd HS in Shirley, New York. A current junior, ranked as the fourth-best running back among NY 2026 recruits. Thomas is also stationed inside the Top 50, high praise from out New York site. Can double as a backer.
Thomas’s chiseled stature stuck out immediately. He carries a college-ready build, one prepared to handle workload as a back or backer operating through the trenches. Said build isn’t necessarily suited to work well in a 7v7 setting, however. I’d argue that no out-of-place prospect performed better considering the circumstances. An outstanding YAC performer at this event, Thomas displayed serious burst for someone pushing 220+ pounds. If you watch 3rd & Ten’s highlight reel below, you can witness #25 make people miss in the open field. This without mentioning the soft hands attached to the young man. A fantastic performance from arguably a better player in pads. Happy to get the chance to see him work in person.
Had an amazing time down at Maryland on 3/16 at the Duel In The Dmv event, Came out champs and on my birthday , truly blessed 💪🏾. #EverythingEarned @PRZPAvic @PRZCaleb @3rdandten_ @PrepRedzoneNY @PrepRedzone pic.twitter.com/PNHZomPU2v

You don’t get to see many RB prospects work at 7v7, but Thomas was consistent throughout the tournament as a reliable receiving option when third and ten needed a play.
This was my first time seeing Thomas in person. I was extremely impressed with his quickness and his ability to change direction. He showed a few nice jump cuts in open space.
At 6’2 220, Thomas is a huge RB prospect. The size and play strength are on tape, but live evaluations will help coaches a lot – he was imposing as an athlete in person and one of the few players who I came away from the tournament much higher on than before.
