Five 5A Georgia Playoff Games That You NEED To Watch

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The state of Georgia is competitive from the top all the way to the bottom, as the state of Georgia is arguably the best high school state in the nation, and I wouldn't argue with anyone making those claims. One of the top divisions in the state when it comes to this season's playoffs is the 5A division. This is the second-highest division in the state.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Here are five games in the division that fans NEED to watch, along with one player in each contest that could be a major game-changer.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong><mark class="has-inline-color has-primary-color">Game 24: Milton vs. Jackson County</mark></strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>This is not what you would expect, as Milton could even be considered the underdog in this contest. Milton is the back-to-back state champions, and they are one of the better teams in the state, despite having three losses on their record at this time. As for Jackson County, they enter this game with a 10-1 record, as their lone loss is against the Jefferson Dragons by one score in the second game of the season. They have won out since and have defeated some solid teams. Some of the teams that they have defeated include Dacula, Flowery Branch, and Glynn Academy. This is going to be a great game, in my opinion. He has been one of the better players in the whole class when it comes to the 2027 tight end room, and he is a guy who can contribute in many different ways, including his ability to block. Haviland has great size, and he is a force at the position. He finished last week's game with a touchdown for the Eagles, and it would come as no shock if he finished with yet another TD in this contest against a very tough Jackson County team.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong><mark class="has-inline-color has-primary-color">Game 22: Gainesville vs Brunswick</mark></strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>This is a road game for the Red Elephants, and that is not something you would expect after their phenomenal season this year. They are taking on Brunswick this week in a game that will go down as a battle. This is a game that could highlight how good both these teams are. Gainesville has been one of my favorites to win the state title as a whole, but this will be a good test, considering the Brunswick Pirates put up 78 in their first-round matchup. They will be looking to make a state`ment in this game, but they will have a tall hill to climb against that Red Elephants' defense. A defense that has a lot of stars rushing the passers, but will be a heavily defended pass game team as a whole with their defensive backs. I am a big believer in what he has to offer on the defensive line, and that has been something he has been showing for quite some time now. He was my offseason MVP in the state of Georgia, and he will be a star at the next level, especially if he can add some more weight to his frame, as he is a bit of a smaller defensive lineman. He is a top DL in the state without a doubt.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong><mark class="has-inline-color has-primary-color">Game 23: Houston County vs. Rome</mark></strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>This is a game that will showcase star power from top to bottom. Rome is a team that has set the standard very high with its great performances throughout the season. Their only defeats have been against Creekside and Carrollton, who both have great programs. That Creekside program is arguably the top team in the state in some people's eyes. Rome has a great roster, and so does Houston County. Houston County is a very talented program that has picked up wins throughout the season, as they have only lost to one team in the state. That team is Thomas County Central. A very tough team, which will be a problem for state contention. He is a player that any defense would need to scheme around, but even when that is the case, his success will still come just like it did in round one. He walked away with 135 yards and two touchdowns in one of the more impressive performances in the state playoffs.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong><mark class="has-inline-color has-primary-color">Game: 19: Clarke Central vs. Roswell</mark></strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Nearly everyone is already trying to write this game off already, as Roswell is a team that has a lot to offer, but at the same time, this Clarke Central team is a team that has already pulled off one major win that they weren't expected to get. That being against Effingham, which many believed was a state-contending team. They will have to play their cards right against Roswell, as Roswell is one of the better teams in the state as a whole, and they remain to be a top contender in this bracket. He plays special teams, defense, running back, and wide receiver. He is arguably one of the better players when it comes to a complete phases player in the state. Cousey is what many coaches admire, as he is one of the quicker players in the state. Cousey is someone who has a bright future, and he will only get better when it comes to his career, as he has yet another season ahead of him.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong><mark class="has-inline-color has-primary-color">Game 20: Newnan vs. Sequoyah</mark></strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>This is one of the more competitive games in the slate, as this game will be one to watch if you want to see a close contest. While any game can get out of hand in the state of Georgia, this is one that I believe could be close for the majority of the way through. This is a game that has highlighted many talented players and two solid records. He finished the last contest they played (a playoff game) with two sacks and a total of seven tackles. This is what you want out of your mike, and he is someone who continues to improve. He will be a Colorado star at the next level and that will be thanks to his time in the state of Georgia.
