The Class of 2029 is next up. Athletes from across the state in this class, played their first snaps of high school, and varsity football for their respective teams. These guys might not have the top tier stats of others players at their position, but in the 2029 Class, here are a few Offensive Freshman who caught my eye during their Freshman season.

[player_tooltip player_id='1514651' first='Mason' last='Anderson'] | West Seneca West

As the Starter for West Seneca West, Anderson put together a solid campaign, and has a good chance to be one of the top Signal Callers in the 2029 Class. As for stats, Anderson tossed 1,332 Yards, and threw ten touchdowns. Both categories, he led for Freshman across the State. Anderson displays a good build standing at 6'1" 175-Pounds, and I see him as the next big WNY QB. This Season, he led his team to a 7-2 season, and showed great poise, and a good ball throughout the season. I like Mason a lot, and his career is one that should be watched closely.

Evan Mangone | Rush Henrietta

The Second of my two QB's who caught my eye in 2029, is Evan Mangone. His Brother Brendan, is a Junior on the Rush Henrietta squad, and learning under his brother Brendan, will give him a good insight to leading an offense when it is his turn. He put together a solid campaign, with 803 total yards, and nine total touchdowns. Standing at 5'9" 160-Pounds, he has an undersized build at the moment, but as he ages, I expect him to grow and gain weight which will benefit the young signal caller. He displayed a high IQ, and showed the ability to move between progressions to find an open target. With the Mangone family, the Rush Henrietta Football squad has a bright future at the helm.

[player_tooltip player_id='1583493' first='Luke' last='Martini'] | Wantagh

Martini, was easily the top Freshman RB this season. In just Nine games this season, he had 16 touchdowns, and 1,520 yards on 121 attempts. He averaged over 180 yards per game this season. Coming from a mainly rushing attack, seeing a Freshman as the main guy is extremely impressive. Martini easily dominated with the chances he was given this season, and I have complete faith he will easily be a top back throughout his career in NY. Throughout this season, Martini displayed good footwork, and had and elite IQ, which allowed him to slow down plays and find gaps to escape for long runs.

Legacy Taylor | East

Taylor has easily the coolest name in the state in my opinion. The Freshman RB, received some quality snaps for Eats this season, and I expect a breakout season from him next year. Stat wise, he was used as both an RB, and WR. On there ground, he had 476 yards and four touchdowns, on 50 carries. As a pass catcher, he had one touchdown, on 107 yards and six catches. Taylor displayed elite speed this season, along with good footwork, which allowed him to make sharp cuts and evade tacklers. I like Taylor a lot, and he has a bright future, which will likely see him end as one of the top backs in the 2029 class.

Carter Chrystie | Norwich

Chrystie, has been a valuable asset for the Norwich squad this season. He has been used at almost every position on the offense this season, and his impact is greatly felt. Standing at 5'8" 150-Pounds, he has a solid build, and adding some weight as he grows, will be beneficial in completing his frame. Stat wise, he had solid numbers at WR, RB, and QB. Chrystie, displayed an elite IQ, and good skills at each position. With three years left, I am excited to watch him grow on this Norwich squad.

[player_tooltip player_id='1354566' first='Darius' last='Weathers'] | East

[player_tooltip player_id='1354566' first='Darius' last='Weathers'], is my next big WNY pass catcher. I like the East WR, and he is one of any young stars on the Eagles roster. Weathers stands at 5'9" 160-Pounds, displaying a solid build for a WR/DB prospect. I like his frame, and he will grow into it in no time. Weathers displayed good speed this season, along with solid footwork which showed throughout his routes. He showcased a solid route tree, with a deep bag of ways to utilize his skills. Weathers has potential to be one of the top pass catchers in the state through High School.

[player_tooltip player_id='1639318' first='Anthony' last='Menghi'] | Iona Prep

There are multiple Tight End's who have caught my eye this season, but the one who has stood out the most, is Menghi. Typically I would not include JV players, but Iona Prep has a loaded roster, and playin for the Gaels is an honor in its self. As a Freshman, he has an outstanding build, standing at 6'1" 190-Pounds. As of now, he fills a WR role given his size, but I can see him playing both and becoming a Hybrid like prospect for Coach Spagnolo. Menghi is a guy you need to pay attention to, and when he breaks out make sure you remember who called it.
