About Mason
Expert Analysis
Jonathan Davalos | Prep Redzone Scout
Mason Anderson, one of two Buffalo Elite 15u quarterbacks to stand out and widely regarded as the top QB in New York, put together one of the most polished performances of the weekend. He consistently showed precision and control, highlighted by a perfectly timed corner route thrown away from coverage, and operated with impressive patience in the pocket. Anderson never looked rushed, confidently working through progressions and always scanning for opportunities. When the window opened, he had the arm talent to drive the ball in with authority.

2029 Prospects typically would not receive and invite unless they are at the top of the state talent wise. In New York, that would be

. Another WNY Prospect, hailing from West Seneca West, Anderson had a solid Freshman season as a starter, and is part of the next gen of QB talent in NY. Standing at 6’1″ 185-Pounds, he displays an impressive frame for a QB, and a playmaker his age. Anderson throws a good ball, paired with impressive mechanics, and good strength. I like his footwork outside the pocket, and he is a playmaker behind the LOS. Anderson would certainly be receiving an invite if I was the boss.

Next up we find a Signal Caller, who has somehow become underrated. starting as a Freshman is impressive, especially in Class A. Not only did Anderson start, he dominated, leading his team to an impressive 7-2 record in 2025. Anderson is my top 2029 prospect, and I predict him to become a national recruit soon. he demonstrates elite pocket presence, and displays a good touch on balls. He can change his velocity on throws, while showcasing a strong arm with good accuracy. Anderson had 22 touchdowns, and 10 picks this past season, and I expect big numbers from the top 2029 prospect soon.

Mason was one of the quarterbacks on the squad, and he was very impressive. He makes good progress through his progressions. He has the velocity and overall arm strength to make tough passes on the boundary and into closing windows. He was accurate all weekend, and overall, he looked like the first-ranked player and quarterback that PRZ New York has him as.

Anderson is arguable the best freshman prospect at any position but to play the QB position as well as he did as a 9th grader is remarkable. Mason led the Warhawks to a 7-2 record with 1,500 passing yards and added 350 yards on the ground and 22 total TDs. He was a 6th team All State honoree as well as WNY Class A1 First Team All League member.

Anderson is one of the clear cut QB’s in the 2029 Class. The WSW prospect has a solid frame at 6’1″ 185-Pounds, and can look to reach the 200-Pound mark, but is on track.
Anderson Displays a high IQ, and good pocket awareness. He can move around with quick feet and escape pressure while pushing the ball down field. His arm strength is elite, and he showcases the ability to hit all three levels across the field. He has solid mobility and can leave the pocket on Options/RPO plays.
I want to see Anderson work on his mechanics, as his release is quick, but his arm motion is a bit wonky and has an effect on the ball on some reps.
Anderson can with ease see himself as the top QB in New York in 2029, and early on we could be seeing some D1 FBS/FCS Interest in the future for the West Seneca West Signal Caller.

Anderson was WSW’s starting QB on JV as an 8th grader last season. He is expected to be the varsity starter right out of the gate. On tape and in 7v7s, he has shown excellent athleticism and the ability to read coverages. His knowledge of the game exceeds most SENIOR QBs. Few QBs are four year varsity starters but Mason looks like he will be one of them.
