While Baylor is competing for a state championship still this season, behind the scenes they are establishing a championship-level young core to build around for the future to maintain that championship level of competition on the gridiron.

While you might know the talented underclassmen on the team like sophomore tight end [player_tooltip player_id='1201841' first='Braxton' last='Rein'], lineman [player_tooltip player_id='1704258' first='Dante' last='Wade'], linebacker [player_tooltip player_id='1357966' first='Maxym' last='Sugoniako'] and receivers [player_tooltip player_id='906095' first='Beckham' last='Stokes'] and [player_tooltip player_id='424660' first='Hank' last='DeGennaro'], you might not know that they are about to add another strong group to next year's team from a talent-filled undefeated middle school team.

While more names will naturally emerge as we enter next summer, these five 2030 prospects at Baylor are already on my radar for the long-term and have even seen varsity action for arguably the top team in the entire state.

Baylor 2030 Quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='1720156' first='Marshall' last='Manning']

Well, this might be the one you do know about as it was covered by just about every single outlet in the country it felt like. Eventually down the road, he will be handed the reigns to the offense that has been explosive ever since head coach Erik Kimrey arrived at Baylor.

Obviously, as the son of legendary Tennessee Volunteers and NFL quarterback Peyton Manning, he comes from an impressive family of quarterbacks and athletes in general and he will get four more years of development down in Chattanooga moving forward.

Baylor 2030 Receiver/Athlete [player_tooltip player_id='2001414' first='Cole' last='Fritz']

The next name, [player_tooltip player_id='2001414' first='Cole' last='Fritz'], might be the best of the bunch with his very intriguing size, athleticism, body coordination, and natural playmaking ability.

Based on everything that I have seen, this is going to be someone that the coaching staff wants to get the ball in his hands immediately in any method possible. He had one of the best catches I have seen all year on a touchdown reception in a big moment and those big plays happen all the time for him.

The hype around this prospect is impressive. I heard about [player_tooltip player_id='1537396' first='Maddox' last='Porter'] super early for the last class. The name that I heard super early this year was [player_tooltip player_id='2001414' first='Cole' last='Fritz'].

Baylor 2030 Running Back [player_tooltip player_id='1592012' first='David' last='Knowles III']

Tailback [player_tooltip player_id='1592012' first='David' last='Knowles III'] and Fritz are a dynamic one-two punch for their offense that was just unfair at that level. Knowles is a well-built back that already boasts a strong frame and that was evident when he broke a handful of tackles in one varsity high school game he played in at the end.

While he has that powerful built, he has the athleticism and cutting ability to make bigger plays happen as well, creating exciting running back as the next in line for the big, strong one-cut backs in the Baylor pipeline.

Baylor 2030 Cornerback Regge'yun Hubbard

Regge'yun Hubbard is another exciting perimeter prospect for the future at Baylor and he made some plays at the end of a varsity high school football game as well.

In that outing, he was tasked with covering a massive tight end in one-on-one coverage in the red zone, and earned the pass breakup, showing promising ball tracking and maintained a strong level of physicality to disrupt the timing.

He will be an intriguing prospect to watch in the secondary at Baylor for the long-term.

Baylor 2030 Defensive Lineman Key Lewis Jr

If you saw Key Lewis Jr practicing with the high school team, you would be asking what new transfer Baylor got that nobody reported and then you would be stunned to find out that the 6-foot-4 defensive lineman is going to enter the high school level next season.

He has a great frame with probably around 220-230 pounds of a well built lengthy frame and just in the early stages of his overall development. He is big, long, and athletic and the upside is blatantly evident which should eventually give Baylor an anchor for the unit down the road.

His future potential is exciting and will be a name to know over the next four seasons.

While Baylor is competing for a state championship still this season, behind the scenes they are establishing a championship-level young core to build around for the future to maintain that championship level of competition on the gridiron.
