District play continues this week and we have some more match-ups that could very well decide who takes home the district championship. And we believe that there will be several games this week that end up deciding the district championship. We break them all down right here. Keep it locked in to Prep Redzone Oklahoma every day this week to get ready for week six!

#9 BETHANY (3-2) AT #2 TUTTLE (5-0)

#2 Tuttle hosts #9 Bethany on Friday night and this game is one of a few on this breakdown that got more interesting after last week's outcomes. Bethany knocked off Blanchard last week, scoring a big district win and now they are tied with the Tigers for the lead in this district. The winner of Friday night's game could end up having a stranglehold on the district lead. Bethany is definitely playing good football following a 1-2 start against a brutal non-district schedule. On the other side of the match-up is a Tuttle team that seems very mission-oriented and that mission is to make it back to Edmond and bring home the gold ball. So far, the Tigers have looked borderline unstoppable. They've shut out their last three opponents and have won all five games by 25 points or more. Tuttle looks like a team that could roll back to Edmond. But Bethany could make quite the statement and throw a wrench in that plan if they go on the road and stun the Tigers.

#4 CASHION (5-0) AT #5 HOOKER (4-1)

It's a top five clash in the panhandle and in our opinion, it's the game of the week for week six. #4 Cashion heads west to square off with #5 Hooker. For the Bulldogs, this begins a two-week stretch that could really define the 2025 season. They host Cashion on Friday night and then travel to Fairview next week. This trio of teams have started to separate themselves from the rest of the class. Hooker is 4-1 on the season under first year head coach Tanner McBee and the only loss came in non-district play to a team from Texas. On the other end you have Cashion at 5-0 and the Wildcats have looked great so far this season. They had a double overtime thriller with Velma-Alma in week one but other than that, Cashion has won every other game by at least 20 points. Behind that, they are right back in the hunt for the state title. Both teams have explosive offenses, led by dynamic playmakers, making for a fun night out in the Oklahoma panhandle.

#3 HERITAGE HALL (4-1) AT #9 KINGFISHER (4-1)

In the first of two top ten showdowns in Class 3A, #3 Heritage Hall heads up to face #9 Kingfisher in a game that could very well decide the district championship. Although, right now, Plainview might have something to say about that down the line. Both teams have looked really sharp this season, specifically in the last few weeks. Kingfisher opened the year with an overtime loss to Weatherford but they've won four straight and the offense has been borderline unstoppable in the last three games. Heritage Hall has also gone on a streak following an early season loss to rival Lincoln Christian. The Chargers have dominated district play for what feels like a decade and they don't plan on slowing down anytime soon. And like we said, the winner of Friday night's showdown is going to have a leg up and will be one step closer to the district crown. The loser will have their backs against the wall and will also need some help along the way.

#5 KINGSTON (4-1) AT #10 BETHEL (5-0)

In our opinion, the game of the week in Class 2A-1 is this showdown as #5 Kingston goes on the road to take on #10 Bethel. And for Kingston, the Redskins can take a major step towards capturing the district championship with a win on Friday night. They've already taken care of a Kiefer team that's also ranked in the 2A-1 top ten and is probably the other main contender for this district crown. A win Friday will give Kingston a borderline death grip on the district lead as we move into the second half of the regular season but it's not going to be easy. Bethel is 5-0 this season and their offense has been on fire. They can beat teams in a variety of ways and they've shown that through the first five games. Granted, Friday night's home game with Kingston is hands down their toughest test of the season. But Bethel can firmly cement themselves in the conversation for the best in the district by knocking off the Redskins on Friday night.

#6 MINCO (5-0) AT #10) WYNNEWOOD (5-0)

Here's the first of two match-ups on this breakdown that feature unbeaten teams going head to head. #6 Minco goes on the road to face #10 Wynnewood and the winner here will not only remain undefeated, they will be in firm control of the lead in the race for the district championship. Both teams are unbeaten and have looked rather dominant but for Minco, they feel like a more battle-tested team coming into this week. They have a win over Dibble, who upset 2A-2 defending champion Davis in week four. Wynnewood joined the top ten this week after beating Christian Heritage but Friday night's game with the Bulldogs will be their first major test. But the Savages have won the last two meetings with Minco, including last year's 10-0 victory. And that loss really hurt Minco's chances at capturing the district crown in 2024. All eyes might be on that top five clash out in the panhandle but this is a major game when it comes to Class A-1.

#5 MUSTANG (4-1) AT #2 JENKS (4-1)

It's the top game in Class 6A-1 as #2 Jenks hosts #5 Mustang on Friday night. Both teams come in at 4-1 with Mustang dropping a non-district road game to Broken Arrow and Jenks falling to top-ranked Bixby. For the Trojans, they bounced back from that district-opening loss to Bixby by beating up on Norman 44-0 last week. The offense has been lights out all season and the defense is starting to grow up in a hurry and they obviously will come into this week with a lot of momentum after shutting out Norman. Mustang is a team that could be sitting at 5-0. They lost a close one to Broken Arrow without their star quarterback. But he's back and he has this Bronco offense rolling. When we look at this match-up on paper, it's really going to come down to the defenses and who can get stops at opportune times. Both teams are going to be able to score but the team that can string together some stops will be in a good position to get the win.

#4 PERKINS-TRYON (3-2) AT #6 SEMINOLE (5-0)

It's the game of the week in Class 3A as #4 Perkins-Tryon goes on the road to face #6 Seminole Friday night. The Demons have been a top five team in Class 3A all season but they have no room for error moving forward in district play. They dropped a road game in week four against Sulphur and can't afford another loss. They'll rely on their running game once again for this 3A showdown with a Seminole team that is building more and more confidence every week. The Chieftains might have one of, if not the best quarterback in 3A football and he's definitely one of the more electric quarterbacks in the state. They are 5-0 on the season and are coming off a close call against Bristow last week. If Seminole gets the win Friday, it'll be time to consider them a 3A contender and perhaps a contender to Sulphur within the district. No matter what happens, this game has the makings for a potential instant classic on Friday night.

#3 PRYOR (5-0) AT #9 CLAREMORE (5-0)

It's another match-up featuring unbeaten teams and we can't wait for this 5A clash as #3 Pryor makes the short trip for a showdown with #9 Claremore on Friday night. Both teams are looking to challenge Del City for district supremacy but before they worry about the Eagles, they have to focus on Friday night's game, where one team will suffer their first loss of the season. Pryor has been absolutely dominant so far this season and look like a real state title contender. They are led by a three-year starter at quarterback and the passing game can light up the scoreboard in a hurry. It'll be a clash of styles as Pryor's high-powered passing attack will be countered by Claremore's strong rushing attack. The Zebras have arguably the most underrated running back in Class 5A and perhaps the state. They'll rely on him to be a workhorse Friday night and more importantly, keep the ball out of the hands of the Pryor offense. If they can do that, they could pull off the upset and remain undefeated.

#5 SOUTHMOORE (4-1) AT #4 CHOCTAW (2-3)

This game certainly got a little more interesting after last week. Defending champion Choctaw returns home after losing on the road to Putnam City. They host a Southmoore team that is trending in the right direction but this is certainly the toughest test they've faced so far this season. For the Sabercats, they are 4-1 on the season but more importantly, they are 2-0 in district play. Friday night's road test against the defending champs is a measuring stick game. Where are the Sabercats when you compare them to the other top teams in Class 6A-2? They get to answer that question Friday. And for Choctaw, the defending champions are going to play like they have their backs against the wall because that's the case after dropping a district game to Putnam City. So this game has storylines on both sides as Choctaw looks to bounce back and stay in the district title race while Southmoore looks to prove the belong in the conversation with 6A-2's elite.

#4 WOODLAND (3-2) AT #5 HOMINY (3-2)

Our final game is right there at the top of the list in terms of anticipation, level of play and overall stakes with whoever wins. Defending champion and #4 Woodland hits the road to face #5 Hominy in a match-up that has become the best rivalry in Class A-2 in it's very short history. These two teams played an instant classic two years ago with Hominy winning and Woodland prevailed last year. Both teams are 3-2 and coincidentally lost to the exact same teams. Both Hominy and Woodland lost non-district games to Pawhuska and Pawnee. Hominy is a senior-heavy team while Woodland is still learning their identity after losing a special senior class from last year. There's a lot of football left to be played but history tells us the winner of this game will have a great shot at winning the district. We can only hope this week's meeting is as dramatic as the last time these two met in Hominy. The Bucks stunned the Cougars in the final minute to win.
