The reigning state champ and quarterback for the Oscar Smith Tigers decided his visit to Charlottesville over the weekend was enough to keep him in state. [player_tooltip player_id='521793' first='Lonnie' last='Andrews'] committed to the University of Virginia on Saturday, this is a major get for Coach Elliot's squad. He has been one of the top quarterbacks in the nation for the past two years and for the Cavaliers to keep him in his home state, speaks wonders about the turnaround they are having. Andrews had offers from a number of Power 4 schools, but the Cavaliers beat everyone out.

Joining Andrews with an in state commitment is Hampton lineman Gen Jones Jr., who announced his intention to enroll at UVA shortly after. The big man was over 10 FBS level offers but he too decided it was best to stay in his home state. Jones is 6'5 and a multi sport athlete, you will not find many more athletic tackles on tape.

Lafayette's Baum Hogge picked up his second Division 1 offer over the weekend with Columbia University being the school. This young man is the real deal and we had the privilege of watching his size and speed up close at our Winter showcase. He is a sideline to sideline linebacker whose name should be a high priority for more Ivy League schools to come calling.

I believe that makes 4 offers for Benedictine College defensive lineman Yeshua Matalata. Virginia Union being the latest to offer the now 6'2 290 lb. 2026 prospect. Expect more offers similar to this for Matalata now that many schools similar are approaching their own recruiting seasons.

Lamah wisely opened up his recruitment upon the Franklin firing news and he has many schools hoping to reel him in. Among the many schools who I could see going hard for him are Virginia, Virginia Tech and Ohio State. He had over 20 plus offers before he committed to PSU, I would keep a close look out on what he does. Would not be shocked in the slightest if he stayed with the Nittany Lions depending on how their staff shakeup turns out.
