Uncommitted Seniors Ready for Their Next Home

The regular season is in the rearview mirror. The playoffs are about to kickoff Level 2 and that means only 112 of our 11 man teams are still in action. So there is an immense amount of senior talent who have had their seasons come to an end. But with that comes the opportunity to focus more on their recruitment and talking with coaches and going on visits. In this article I want to take a dive into our current Prep Redzone WI rankings and look at the film of the top uncommitted seniors who have had their season come to an end and are ready to find home at the next level.    However you want to break it down, [player_tooltip player_id='1220645' first='James' last='Thomas'] is one of the best players in Wisconsin. He is a highly sought after, Power 4 level talent and the senior has the offers to match. The skill set is elite from the big man. Light on his feet with power ready to unload on opponents at the instant he drives his hands into their chest. His overall reactive athleticism in pass protection is elite, mirroring edges with ease while staying balanced. In the run game it is controlled violence. James is able to be the low man and drive guys off the line of scrimmage. He is the #1 uncommitted player in the state.     In some breaking news this week, Marquette's [player_tooltip player_id='948094' first='Tommy' last='Novotny'] reopened his recruitment to other coaches and programs. That is a great opportunity for other programs as the senior is the best in the state at his position. The 2026 is an elite playmaker. Making something out of nothing, creating space, making defenders miss in a phone booth. The kid is electric with the ball in his hands. All the athletic tools are there for an elite 5'9" 170 lbs athlete, but he really separates himself with his ability to handle a large workload at that size along with how he is able to play through contact. The senior RB is one of the best overall playmakers available in the state. Run to his tape to see how he can fit on your roster.     6'5" 230 lbs, All Conference, wrestling background, and a 4.37 shuttle. And that is just his Twitter bio. The senior DE out of Waukesha West is a gifted athlete. Length and a well filled out frame make Mason a difficult matchup because he can win with a mix of power and speed. The DE also does an outstanding job of playing smart. He knows when he needs to stay home and set the edge, when he can utilize his pass rushing talents to get after the QB, and does a great job reading when to crash down the line of scrimmage. The senior is long, strong, smart, athletic and still uncommitted. He is a must watch.      Luke checks so many boxes when it comes to the safety position. You want a kid that will set the tone. Someone who you can rely on running downhill with bad intentions ready to fill against the run or deliver a hit on a receiver going over the middle. You also need a versatile athlete. He can't just play in the box. Luke does really well in coverage. He can read and react to the QB or do a great job of feeling and finding receivers entering his zone. Plus he has the ball skills to create turnovers. The senior is a three down safety ready to play at the next level.      AJ is such a special prospect. He is completely selfless, doing whatever his team needed. The senior piled up 1,343 passing yards, 1,118 rushing yards, and scored 24 offensive TDs. He also has plenty of experience under his belt playing s safety in the past as well. AJ has built an elite frame, now 6'4" 225 lbs and can still destroy a defense with his legs. We are talking both speed to get to the edge and quickness to pick through the front seven. The big man finishes runs like a TE, trying to run over defenders and break tackles. AJ has no hesitation when it comes to doing the dirty work and trying to earn those yards after contact. The senior is so strong too. The way he fought off tackles throughout the season to keep plays alive was so special.   I don't think his home is necessarily at QB at the next level, but he is a high level talent. The kid is a playmaker and a gamer who finds a way to make positive things happen. This is the type of kid you want to add to your program and use to help build your culture too. I can't recommend recruiting this kid enough.      Teams looking to add another OL to their classes, and that should be everyone, need to check out [player_tooltip player_id='1610084' first='Nolan' last='Duffy']. He had a great summer of camps that included an OL MVP at the WI Badgers camp. He rolled that into a dominant season where he posted 41 pancakes in 10 games. Nolan possesses an elite frame and excellent range for his size. His film is loaded with that on display as he goes across the formation to flatten DE/Edges. Even in pass pro, once Nolan got his hands on you he could flip that switch, go on the attack, and quickly have his guy flat on the ground. Dive into his tape. The tools are easy to see. I can't wait to see who wins his recruitment.     Jagger is a very intriguing prospect. He played both ways for Holmen and I believe he could play IDL or IOL at the next level. On the defensive side of the ball Jagger racked up 28 tackles, 6 TFLs, and 2.5 sacks. The big man brings explosive violence to both positions. He does great at playing with leverage, popping defenders under the chin and driving them off the line or using it to bull rush through an OL. Jagger is a force on the interior. He is strong and brings athleticism that is a tough matchup for opponents on either side of the ball. Don't sleep on the high impact lineman.
