PRZ AL Game of the Week: Thompson (6-2) vs. Hoover (5-3)

Welcome back! We're previewing a huge Week 8 matchup between Thompson (6-2) and Hoover (5-3)   Both these teams have STACKED rosters, so we're discussing who we think everyone should look out for this week.   As always, check out these prospects' film below! You won't want to miss out on this group.   Let's dive in:   <h1 class="wp-block-heading">OFFENSE</h1>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">THOMPSON</h2>    [player_tooltip player_id='440308' first='Darion' last='Moseley'] is having a fantastic season out wide for the Warriors; he and [player_tooltip player_id='216690' first='Trent' last='Seaborn'] have locked in for some huge plays this year.   "Moseley is a big WR who thrives on his speed and route-running. He gains tons of separation from DBs at every level of the field, consistently making huge plays against some talented 7A secondaries. Moseley is highly versatile in his team's offenses- lining up inside/outside and completely bullying opposing DBs with his combination of size and speed.   Moseley does a great job taking advantage of smaller DBs- frequently on tape you'll find him winning one-on-one matchups for the ball, fighting through contact, and making huge catches over the tops of defenders."   Hoover's secondary will have to find a way to slow down Thompson's WR corps, and especially Mosley. He's been leading their team in several receiving categories; everyone should watch for him this week.   Mosley has put together some dominant tape over the first half of the year. Make sure you give him a watch below, you'll be impressed.      [player_tooltip player_id='1624742' first='Urijah' last='Casey'] is a talented 2028 RB who's been making a bunch of impressive plays for Thompson's ground attack recently.   “Casey is a massive threat with the ball in his hand – he has great vision, quick feet, and tons of speed and twitch he uses to embarrass defenses. Casey is patient behind the line of scrimmage, finds the optimal lane, and takes off for huge gains. Once he's in the open field, Casey is highly elusive and can easily change his direction to make defenders miss, maximizing every carry.   Casey also has terrific contact balance- he can withstand hits and requires multiple defenders to bring him down, wearing down defenses throughout games."   Casey is an explosive threat with the ball in his hands. Hoover's defensive front will have to contain him early on. Once Casey gets going, he's a hard player to stop. You'll come away impressed; it's still hard to believe he's an underclassman.     <h2 class="wp-block-heading">HOOVER</h2>    [player_tooltip player_id='1645242' first='JR' last='Mosley'] is a productive senior RB who's had a big impact on Hoover's rushing attack this season.   "Mosley is explosive out of Hoover's backfield- he has great vision, speed, and twitch that allow him to find rushing lanes at the line of scrimmage and break away in the open field. I'm really impressed with Mosley's quickness and acceleration. As soon as he turns the corner and starts heading upfield, it's challenging for defenses to catch up and stop him.   Mosley is also productive on passing downs; he has a reliable set of hands, good skills after the catch, and was a great safety outlet for his quarterback all year long."   Thompson's defensive front will have to slow down Mosley. He's a productive back who only gets better as the game goes on. I'm excited to see how he'll perform this week.   Be sure to check out some of his film below:      [player_tooltip player_id='1604821' first='Jeremiah' last='Tabb'] is a dominant WR who's been making tons of plays out wide for Hoover this season.   “At 6'2 200, Tabb is a massive threat on the outside- he's got great size, is highly athletic, and can attack secondaries at every level of the field.   Tabb has a great set of hands and thrives in contested situations. He's great in one-on-one situations and consistently fights off defenders to pull away some huge receptions downfield. Tabb also has great YAC ability- he sees the field really well and uses his speed and elusiveness to add extra yards after the catch.“   Tabb has been the go-to target for QB [player_tooltip player_id='1610270' first='Kaleb' last='Freeman'] this season. Thompson's secondary will have a big task ahead this week. There will be some exciting battles out in the secondary this week that we'll have to watch for.   Check out some of Tabb's film below. He's been playing at a high level this season.     <h1 class="wp-block-heading">DEFENSE</h1>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">THOMPSON</h2>    [player_tooltip player_id='1210800' first='Peter' last='Ramil'] is a productive EDGE on Thompson's defensive front who has caused a ton of issues for opposing offenses this season.   "Ramil is highly athletic. He's fast, has great size, and some serious strength he uses to beat OL with every snap. Ramil can really hurt you as a pass rusher. He has a wide variety of moves and great leverage/strength he uses to get through the line of scrimmage and pressure/takedown the QB   When playing against the run, Ramil is a talented tackler with great pursuit skills. He uses to track and take down the ball carrier regardless of where he lines up pre-snap."   Ramil has had a big impact this season. He's a talented run defender and pass rusher that Hoover will need to account for up front. Watch for him this week; he could have a big performance.   Make sure you check out some of Ramil's tape below:      We talked about [player_tooltip player_id='1953840' first='Chauncy' last='Alo'] yesterday after his dominant performance last week. He's been one of Thompson's leading tacklers this season and could be set up for another big week.   "Alo is terrific at defending the run. He flies downhill, fights off blockers, and gets to the ball carrier almost every rushing down. I'm impressed with his instincts and ability to make stops from sideline to sideline. He's a well-rounded LB who's offered a ton to Thompson defensively."   I was really impressed with Alo's tape yesterday. He's an underrated LB Hoover cannot sleep on going into this game. It feels like Alo is near the ball every down; he could present a ton of issues for Hoover's rushing attack this week.   Check out some of Alo's tape below, you'll be impressed:     <h2 class="wp-block-heading">HOOVER</h2>    [player_tooltip player_id='538469' first='Jamarion' last='White'] is a dominant DE who's been having a huge debut year on Hoover's defense this fall.   "At 6'3 260, White has great size, speed, and physicality in the trenches. White is especially dominant against the run. He does a great job at eating up space and fighting off blocks to get to the ball carrier, consistently coming up with huge stops right at or behind the line of scrimmage.   It's really impressive watching White in pursuit- he is terrific at tracking and hunting down the ball carrier, working his way from the other side of the field to come up with huge stops. White is also reliable against the pass- he's excellent at gaining interior pressure and requires a lot of attention from offensive lines because of how disruptive he is."   White has quietly put together a great resume over the last two seasons. Thompson's OL will have to slow him down to get their run game going. Keep an eye on White this week, he could be a game wrecker.   Check out some of his film below and you'll see what I mean:      [player_tooltip player_id='409777' first='Jackson' last='Lassiter'] is a talented senior CB in Hoover's secondary who's been finding a lot of success this season.   "He really holds his own in zone coverage, quickly adjusting to different targets all around him and providing great coverage deep downfield, leading to a ton of coverage sacks up front. It's encouraging watching how well Lassiter flies to the ball- it doesn't matter if he's out in the secondary or on special teams, he's a constant threat to the ball carrier with how well he pursues and makes plays."   I have been a big fan of Lassiter's for a while. He's being tasked with matching up with some of the best WRs in the state this week. I'm excited to see how he'll perform; it'll be awesome to watch.   Check out some of Lassiter's film below:
