PRZ AL Game of the Week: St. Paul's (5-1) vs. Saraland (6-0)

Welcome back! We're previewing a huge Week 7 matchup between St. Paul's (5-1) and Saraland (6-0)   Both these teams have STACKED rosters, so we're discussing who we think everyone should look out for this week.   As always, check out these prospects' film below! You won't want to miss out on this group.   Let's dive in:   <h1 class="wp-block-heading">OFFENSE</h1>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">ST. PAUL'S</h2>    [player_tooltip player_id='1656759' first='Anthony' last='Frasier'] has been a dynamic weapon out of the backfield this year, making plays with his hands and on the ground.   "Frasier is a talented back who plays with a bunch of speed, twitch, and patience. Frasier is dominant with the ball in his hands- he's patient behind the line, waits for rushing lanes to open up, and can rev up from 0-100 to turn upfield for huge gains on the ground.   It's really impressive seeing what Frasier can do in open space- he's shifty, can make defenders miss, and can easily change his direction to carve up defenses nearly every carry."   So far this season, Frasier has recorded 37 carries for 305 yards and 3 TDs on the ground, and 23 receptions for 236 yards and 3 TDs through the air.   Saraland will have to watch out for Frasier this week. He's a versatile playmaker who can cause any defense trouble. Check out some of his clips below:      [player_tooltip player_id='1672874' first='Carson' last='Stephens'] is a talented TE making a big impact on St. Paul's passing attack this season.   “Stephens is a physical TE who creates huge opportunities for his teammates at the line of scrimmage and downfield with his blocking. He's quick on his feet, can maneuver the field, and has the leverage and strength to drive defenders back several yards.   Stephens is just as productive as a pass catcher- he is a dangerous red zone threat who uses his size, hands, and catch radius to haul in impressive catches over the tops of defenses. Stephens can do so many things well at the position; it'll be exciting watching him this fall.“   Stephens has been reliable this season, hauling in 21 receptions for 246 yards and 4 TDs.   I've been really impressed with Stephens' play. He's a talented TE who opens up so much of what St. Paul's does offensively. Make sure you watch his film below:     <h2 class="wp-block-heading">SARALAND</h2>    [player_tooltip player_id='472861' first='Jamison' last='Roberts'] has been electric this season, dominating every secondary he's faced.   “Roberts has some serious arm talent and throws the ball really well- he has a quick release, plenty of arm strength, and the accuracy to hit his WRs anywhere on the field. Roberts can complete some seriously impressive throws- consistently fitting the ball into tight windows, making tough throws on the run, and taking the tops off of defenses with his ability to push the ball downfield.   Roberts is also really athletic and can make a lot happen with his legs. He's fantastic at avoiding pressure when the pocket collapses and uses his speed and mobility to outrun pass rushers, never putting drives in jeopardy.“   Through the first half of the season, Roberts has completed 83/116 passing attempts for 1243 yards and 14 TDs, with another 42 carries for 308 yards and 9 TDs on the ground.   It's been awesome watching Roberts this year. He's been on another level. St. Paul's defense has a tough task ahead this week. Be sure to watch some of Robert's tape in the meantime:      Deshawn Spencer has been one of the top pass catchers in the state this season. He and [player_tooltip player_id='472861' first='Jamison' last='Roberts'] have connected for a ton of huge plays.   “Spencer has some fantastic speed and acceleration; he can easily outrun entire defenses and makes it look effortless. Paired with his speed, Spencer is extremely elusive- he frequently makes defenders miss in the open field and has a ton of different moves that allow him to break away for huge runs.   Spencer also plays with a lot of physicality- he doesn't shy away from contact, can withstand some big hits, and is a physical runner between the tackles.“   Spencer has been unstoppable this year, hauling in 35 receptions for 573 yards and 9 TDs, with 21 carries for 216 yards and 2 TDs on the ground.   It's been a ton of fun watching Spencer and Roberts this season. They're a seriously talented duo that'll present any secondary a ton of challenges. Be on the lookout for them this week:     <h1 class="wp-block-heading">DEFENSE</h1>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">ST. PAUL'S </h2>    [player_tooltip player_id='676572' first='Anthony' last='Jones'] is one of the top EDGE prospects in the nation; he'll certainly keep Saralan'd's OL busy this week.   “Jones is a highly athletic EDGE who plays with a ton of speed and aggression down by the line of scrimmage. Jones can do everything his coaches ask of him- he's a terrific pass rusher, can set the edge, attack the run, and is always around the ball making plays.   Jones plays with unreal effort- he doesn't give up on plays, is great in pursuit, and consistently finds ways to disrupt offenses throughout all four quarters as a pass rusher and run defender. It's going to be really exciting watching him in his senior year this fall; he's a special talent.“   We've had Jones as one of the top talents in the state since his freshman season. He'll be one to look out for this week as he always is, I'm excited to see how he performs:      [player_tooltip player_id='1631191' first='Will' last='Abrams'] is a talented junior LB who's made a massive impact on St. Paul's defense the last two years.   “Abrams is incredibly athletic and can make sideline-to-sideline plays against the run and pass with ease- he plays with unreal pursuit and flies to the ball every snap, coming up with huge stops all over the field regardless of where he lines up pre-snap. It's incredibly impressive watching Abrams defend the run- he slips by blockers to fill in lanes and attack the ball carrier, consistently coming up with tackles for loss or little to no gain.   Abrams is also super reliable in coverage- he can cover a lot of space and is not a guy you want to throw at. He consistently delivers hard hits to pass catchers and uses his hands to break up and intercept passes. I was super impressed with Abrams' tape- he's an every-down playmaker at LB with tons of talent heading into a huge junior season.“   I've been a big fan of Abrams since earlier this year. Everyone should watch out for him, he's a heat seeking missile that will make an impact this week.     <h2 class="wp-block-heading">SARALAND</h2>    [player_tooltip player_id='1741300' first='Ayindae' last='Pugh'] is a dominant LB who's been one of Saraland's leading tacklers this season.   “[player_tooltip player_id='1741300' first='Ayindae' last='Pugh']<a href="https://prepredzone.com/player/ayindae-pugh/"></a><a></a> is a physical and athletic LB who has no problem covering tons of ground to create some impressive stops. Pugh is quick, has great strength, and is an impressive playmaker in pursuit who can shut down the run and make plays in coverage.   I'm seriously impressed with Pugh's skills against the run. He's quick to diagnose plays and does a terrific job fighting off blocks to create huge stops down near the line of scrimmage. Everyone should watch out for Pugh and this Saraland defense this fall; they're set up for a big year.“   Pugh has made a huge imapct this season. He flies around the field every snap and will have to be accounted for by St. Paul's offense this week.      [player_tooltip player_id='1634478' first='Keoni' last='Snipes'] is a dominant EDGE having a big season on Saraland's defensive front.   “At 6'5 230, Snipes already has impressive size and athleticism that he uses to dominate the line of scrimmage. Snipes explodes off the snap and plays with great leverage, quickness, and pursuit to create huge stops all over the field- it's hard to believe he's only a freshman.   Snipes has already proven to be a dominant run defender. He's terrific at setting the edge and can fight off multiple blockers to get his hands on the ball carrier and create some impressive hustle plays all over the backfield.”   We've been big fans of Snipes since earlier this year. Everyone should have him on their radar going into this game, he's an every down threat on the line of scrimmage that St. Paul's will have to look out for.
