Week 6 Recap- Standout Offensive Performances Across the State

I'm impressed with Gideon's patience- he waits for rushing lanes/blocks to develop, and when they do, he has the speed and explosiveness to quickly turn upfield for huge gains.</em></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><em>Gideon also produced well in his team's passing attack- he's a productive route runner underneath who has a reliable set of hands he uses to haul in receptions.</em>“</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Gideon dominated against Florence this week- racking up 20 carries for 108 yards and one TD, and another 5 receptions for 69 yards.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>I've been a big fan of Gideon's since earlier this year, and man, he's having an impressive season this fall. He uses his size to his advantage in a bunch of different ways- consistently dominating DBs by mossing them deep downfield, playing through contact to haul in catches, and never being brought down after first contact.</em></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><em>Broughton is especially dominant in the red zone. Last season, he was incredibly consistent and came away with a ton of huge scoring plays for his offense. One thing that really stood out to me with Broughton's tape was his versatility- he lines up almost everywhere on the field, and can make plays outside, in the slot, and even at TE in certain packages</em>.”</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Broughton dominated in his team's 42-8 win over MGM, hauling in 5 receptions for 110 yards and one TD. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>I've been really impressed watching Broughton this season. He's produced against some talented defenses all year long. He's electric with the ball in his hands and can create huge plays on the ground and through the air by using his explosive speed and quickness.</em></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><em>In addition to his speed, Wheeler also has terrific balance. He can easily change his direction, make defenders miss, and stay on his feet no matter who is in front of him- it's seriously impressive to watch.</em>“</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Wheeler had another huge week against Robertsdale, racking up 10 carries for 128 yards and 2 TDs. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>I've been a big fan of Wheeler's this season. He's found a ton of success in Baker's rushing attack and continues to produce against whoever he's up against. He's a tough QB to bring down who can deliver huge throws on the run while also having the mobility to turn upfield and create big gains on the ground.</em>“</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Riggins went off in his team's 28-10 win over Stanhope Elmore, completing 20/25 passes for 312 passing yards and 4 TDs.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>I'll keep saying it- Riggins is the most underrated QB in the state. What he's been able to do these last two seasons has been amazing to watch. Whenever the pocket collapses or passing options are limited, Lyle is great at using his mobility to evade defenders and create opportunities downfield with his arm. </em></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><em>Lyle also thrives on QB runs, using his speed and quickness to make big plays on the ground. When you pair that up with his ability to throw the ball, it makes game planning as a defense against him a headache.</em>"</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Lyle had a huge night this past Friday, completing 16/29 passes for 320 yards and 2 TDs.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Austin has been off to a hot start this season, and Lyle is a large reason why.
