5. Monsignor Farrell (Last Week, 7)

The Lions continue to move up the rankings following week four. We will be in Staten Island, as Monsignor Farrell takes on Fordham Prep in a Catholic League matchup, as they look to stay in the top five. Last week, Coach RDP and the Lions, faced off against another top ten team, and Catholic League opponent in St. Anthony's. Monsignor Farrell came out on top, 21-20 after a blocked extra point in the 4th Quarter. Monsignor Farrell sits at 4-1, with a loss to Delbarton, keeping them from being undefeated. With the loses of Cardinal Hayes and Chaminade, they move up to the #5 slot as they continue with their success in Catholic League play. Tough matchups remain against Iona Prep, St. Joseph By The Sea, and Cardinal Hayes, but through the first part of the season, the Lions are a team I fear in the Catholic League.

4. Garden City (Last Week, 3)

Garden City has the longest winning streak in the State. The Trojans have won their last 50 games, and multiple Division III titles in the past few years. Garden City has played three games this year, and holds a perfect record, with wins against Long Beach, Baldwin, and East Meadow. The reason for the sudden placement drop, is due to the fact that I think multiple teams in the top ten ranked lower can take down the Trojans. Rye who is moved ahead of them, has player a tougher schedule, and won all their games. I like Garden City, and they are certainly a top team in the state, but their lack of challenges is concerning, and makes them tough to put in a high position on this list.

3. Rye (Last Week, 4)

Rye and Garden City swap places, after Week Four. The Garnets are the team to beat In Section One, and easily can make a state title run representing the Hudson Valley. Last week, Coach Garr became the All-Time Wins Leader in the state of New York, as they remained undefeated. Rye continues to look impressive, as they beat solid opponents that are capable of beating them. Their level of competition, continues to improve, as their win against Somers looks better by the day as the Tuskers are back at 2-2 after starting 0-2. Three tricky matchups remain against Eastchester, Yorktown, and Harrison to finish out their final four games. Rye has a serious chance of entering the playoffs undefeated, and with solid teams across Section One, their big time wins become notable.

2. CBA-Syracuse (Last Week, 2)

CBA-Syracuse, stays at #2 in the power rankings, following another win. The Brothers sit at 4-0 on the season, and through 16 quarters of football have allowed 23 points. CBA-Syracuse, started out with two wins against two tricky opponents in Whitesboro, and CBA-Albany. The previous two matchups against West Genesee and Baldwinsville, kicked off Section Three play for the Brother's where they continue to plow through their opponents. CBA-Syracuse is easily the top team in the Syracuse region, and due to their continued success following a state title last season, they are easily a top team in the state and find themselves in the top two of the Week Four Power Rankings

1. Iona Prep (Last Week, 2)

Iona Prep is easily the most talented team in the state in 2025. The Gaels faces a big time Catholic League opponent, in Cardinal Hayes, and exploded for a 42-14 win against Coach O'Neil, and his Cardinals. Iona Prep sits undefeated, and has another huge matchup against St. Anthony's this week, which will be a huge test for Coach Spagnolo and his squad. The Gaels have serious D1 talent on their roster, like [player_tooltip player_id='741078' first='Mamadee' last='Sangaray'], [player_tooltip player_id='735876' first='Julian' last='Guzman'], [player_tooltip player_id='1355476' first='Dilen' last='Mulaj'], and other players across the boards. If there is one team I would not want to face this season, it is the Gaels of Iona Prep.
