One of those two teams left undefeated nearly lost that perfect record in a stunning upset. While Ballard has historically excelled in this rivalry, sitting with a 1-5 record so far this season, Gilbert expected to walk into Huxley and steamroll the Bombers. However, they kept up with the Tigers toe-to-toe. Ballard's offense took major strides forward from the beginning of the year, but their defense was no match for the Tigers' run-game, which tallied up 321 yards of rushing and an average of 6.1 yards per carry. Leading with the final score heading into the 4th quarter, the Tigers were able to run the clock out to stay undefeated. Their win over Ballard marks their first since 2015 as they look to round out the last 2 weeks to secure an undefeated regular season.

The Yellow Jackets came in with a must-win scenario to keep their playoff hopes alive going against a struggling 1-5 Boone unit. Boone built a 13-0 lead early into the second quarter before the Yellow Jackets scored 18 unanswered to take the lead in the 3rd quarter. Afterwards, it became a back-and-forth battle, with both teams striking and reclaiming the upper hand. Boone took the final lead with just over 3 minutes to go. The Yellow Jackets turned the ball over on a fumbled snap, and the Toreadors were able to run out the clock for the win. Boone snaps a 4-game losing streak with this win, while the Yellow Jackets' playoff hopes are almost all but dissolved.

Arguably the most anticipated matchup of the week in the conference between two heated rivals, this matchup turned into a one-sided battle ADM, who entered this game having lost 5 straight matchups to Glenwood and having not beaten them since 2014 came fueled and fired up, and they played several notches ahead of the Rams as they built a 24-3 lead at halftime before shutting them out in the second half. Their run-game compiled 365 yards on the ground and a whopping 11.4 yards per carry while limiting the Rams' potent run game to just 112 yards and 3.3 YPC. ADM's win suggests their potential of getting over the hump against tough contenders and that they deserve to be mentioned as a legitimate contender for the state title this season.
