Winding down to the final two weeks of the 2025 season for Class 4A Iowa, there is still 2 teams that are left undefeated in the conference while 17 teams hold winning records as they look to assure a postseason spot over these last 2 games in which they'll need to play flawless football. We recap what went down in week 7 across Class 4A Iowa last weekend!

Top Games:

Gilbert vs. Ballard: 32-29

One of those two teams left undefeated nearly lost that perfect record in a stunning upset. While Ballard has historically excelled in this rivalry, sitting with a 1-5 record so far this season, Gilbert expected to walk into Huxley and steamroll the Bombers. However, they kept up with the Tigers toe-to-toe. Ballard's offense took major strides forward from the beginning of the year, but their defense was no match for the Tigers' run-game, which tallied up 321 yards of rushing and an average of 6.1 yards per carry. Leading with the final score heading into the 4th quarter, the Tigers were able to run the clock out to stay undefeated. Their win over Ballard marks their first since 2015 as they look to round out the last 2 weeks to secure an undefeated regular season.

Top Performer: [player_tooltip player_id='1238506' first='Cameron' last='Cantonwine'] (SR) - Leading the way for the Tigers' potent run-game, Cantonwine ran for 102 yards on 18 carries (5.7 YPC), 2 rushing TDs, and a 2PT conversion.

Council Bluffs Jefferson vs. Boone: 27-24

The Yellow Jackets came in with a must-win scenario to keep their playoff hopes alive going against a struggling 1-5 Boone unit. Boone built a 13-0 lead early into the second quarter before the Yellow Jackets scored 18 unanswered to take the lead in the 3rd quarter. Afterwards, it became a back-and-forth battle, with both teams striking and reclaiming the upper hand. Boone took the final lead with just over 3 minutes to go. The Yellow Jackets turned the ball over on a fumbled snap, and the Toreadors were able to run out the clock for the win. Boone snaps a 4-game losing streak with this win, while the Yellow Jackets' playoff hopes are almost all but dissolved.

Top Performer: Maddox McIntyre (JR) - Leading the way for a running attack which compiled 224 yards on the ground against the Yellow Jackets, McIntyre ran for 141 yards on 25 carries (5.6 YPC) and a rushing TD while adding 2 receptions for 15 yards.

ADM vs. Glenwood: 45-3

Arguably the most anticipated matchup of the week in the conference between two heated rivals, this matchup turned into a one-sided battle ADM, who entered this game having lost 5 straight matchups to Glenwood and having not beaten them since 2014 came fueled and fired up, and they played several notches ahead of the Rams as they built a 24-3 lead at halftime before shutting them out in the second half. Their run-game compiled 365 yards on the ground and a whopping 11.4 yards per carry while limiting the Rams' potent run game to just 112 yards and 3.3 YPC. ADM's win suggests their potential of getting over the hump against tough contenders and that they deserve to be mentioned as a legitimate contender for the state title this season.

Top Performer: [player_tooltip player_id='1619815' first='Hudson' last='Shull'] (SR) - Shull had a spectacular night leading the offense for ADM, finishing 8 of 12 for 110 passing yards and a TD while rushing for 208 yards on just 14 carries (14.9 YPC) and 2 rushing TDs.

Other Notable Results from Week 7:

Western Dubuque vs. Davenport West: 63-0

Denison-Schleswig vs. Lewis Central: 62-0

Xavier vs. Waterloo East: 61-18

Mason City vs. Decorah: 58-13

Des Moines North vs. North Polk: 57-0

Sioux City West vs. Spencer: 48-6

Davenport North vs. Burlington: 47-17

Cedar Rapids Washington vs. Waverly-Shell Rock: 45-14

Bondurant-Farrar vs. Carlisle: 36-12

Pella vs. Oskaloosa: 35-0

Fort Dodge vs. Storm Lake: 35-0

Sergeant Bluff-Luton vs. Le Mars: 35-7

North Scott vs. Clinton: 31-0

Newton vs. Clear Creek Amana: 31-19

Marion vs. Grinnell: 30-0

Top 10 Standouts from Week 7:

QB [player_tooltip player_id='1895361' first='Neil' last='Brown'] (JR) - Davenport North: 22/24, 295 yards, 3 TDs, 22 rushing yards on 11 carries, 4 rushing TDs

QB [player_tooltip player_id='1619815' first='Hudson' last='Shull'] (SR) - ADM: 8/12, 110 yards, 1 TD, 208 rushing yards on 14 carries (14.9 YPC), 2 rushing TDs

ATH [player_tooltip player_id='1242951' first='Kamden' last='Young'] (SR) - Spencer: 178 rushing yards on 15 carries (11.9 YPC), 3 rushing TDs, 2.5 tackles (2 solo)

RB William McElroy (JR) - Fort Dodge: 179 rushing yards on 25 carries (7.2 YPC), 2 rushing TDs, 1 2PT conversion

TE/DL [player_tooltip player_id='1619944' first='Noah' last='Milburn'] (SR) - Decorah: 3 receptions, 69 yards, 2 TDs, 1 INT, 1 punt (33 yards)

LB [player_tooltip player_id='1532913' first='Nick' last='Milburn'] (JR) - Newton: 13 tackles (All solo), 5 TFLs

LB [player_tooltip player_id='856075' first='DreShaun' last='Ross'] (SR) - Fort Dodge: 8.5 tackles (8 solo), 7 TFLs, 7 sacks, 1 forced fumble, 108 rushing yards on 4 carries (27 YPC), 2 rushing TDs

LB [player_tooltip player_id='1620112' first='Tommy' last='Sexton'] (SR) - Decorah: 6.5 tackles (5 solo), 2.5 TFLs, 1.5 sacks, 1 interception returned for TD, 18 rushing yards on 2 carries, 2 rushing TDs

LB Jack Elsamiller (SR) - Waverly-Shell Rock: 8 tackles (5 solo), 0.5 TFLs, 1 fumble return for TD

ATH [player_tooltip player_id='1240437' first='Bryce' last='Burke'] (SR) - North Polk: 1.5 tackles, 2 interceptions, 3 receptions, 59 yards, 1 receiving TD
