[player_tooltip player_id='1604542' first='William' last='Shoptaw'] has been very impressive in his first year as the starter for Hazard. Through six games, he leads 1A in passing, completing 110/177 passes for 1,453 yards, 10 touchdowns, and five interceptions. He is an accurate passer, showing the ability to fit passes into tight windows where only his intended receiver can catch the ball. Shoptaw also has the arm strength to stretch the field in the deep passing game. He has also ran the ball nine times for 46 yards this season. William should be a player for college coaches to keep an eye on as he continues to develop.

Landon Robbins has jumped onto my radar with a strong start to his senior year. He is currently the statewide rushing leader with 91 carries for 1,309 yards and 14 touchdowns in six games. Robbins has explosive speed which he uses to burst through the running lane then run away from the defense on long runs. He also has impressive contact balance which he uses to break tackles with ease without losing stride. Robbins also leads his team in receiving with six catches for 113 yards and a touchdown, and has returned one kickoff for a touchdown. He has also played a role on defense this season, recording 33 tackles, five tackles for loss, and a sack. Robbins should be a player for college coaches to keep an eye on this season.

[player_tooltip player_id='1584336' first='DJ' last='Wren'] is another senior ball carrier who has stood out to me so far this season. Wren takes direct snaps from the quarterback position but it mainly a running threat. He gets downhill in a hurry and is a very strong runner, showing the ability to run straight through defenders without losing his balance. Wren also has the elusiveness to make defenders miss in the open field. Through six games, he has carried the ball 126 times for 1,203 yards and 12 touchdowns. He also leads his team with 37 tackles along with four tackles for loss. Wren should be a player to continue to watch closely throughout his senior year.

[player_tooltip player_id='1200728' first='Anderson' last='Lauffer'] has been on my radar for a while now and has continued to stand out as a junior. He is a player who Paintsville loves to get the ball to quickly in open space and he has the elusiveness and speed in the open field to turn short passes/screens into big gains. Anderson has also shown the ability to use his speed to create separation in the deep passing game. He leads his team in receiving with 27 catches for 507 yards and eight touchdowns through their first six games. Lauffer has also carried the ball 24 times for 166 yards and two touchdowns, and has returned two punts and a kickoff for touchdowns so far this season. He has also made an impact on defense, recording 16 tackles, one tackle for loss, and a team-high three interceptions (one returned for a touchdown). Anderson has received some college interest and I expect college coaches to continue watching his closely over the next couple seasons.

Through six games, he leads his team in receiving with 42 catches for 483 yards and five touchdowns. Johnson is a dangerous deep threat, using his speed to blow by opposing defensive backs with ease. He is also impressive after the catch, showing the ability to get up the field quickly to pick up extra yards. Gavin has also scored one rushing touchdown this season and has made an impact on defense, accounting for 47 tackles and one interception. Johnson has received a strong amount of college interest and I wouldn't be surprised to see some offers come his way soon.

Zayden Kinney has jumped onto my radar with a very impressive start to his senior year. He currently leads 1A in receiving with 30 receptions for 608 yards and eight touchdowns in six games. Kinney is very reliable in jump ball/contested catch situations, showing the ability to attack the ball at its highest point and use his strong hands to bring in the catch through contact. He is also impressive after the catch, using his speed and elusiveness in the open field to turn short passes into big gains.
