Paulsboro (4-0) at Overbrook (3-1)

Off and rolling is Paulsboro, winners of 4-straight off the bat, having won a game by no less than 14 points. They are prepared to head into Overbrook, who has experienced just a little bit of everything this offseason, between blowing out a team, shutting one out, dropping a tough game, and winning a 1-point contest.

[player_tooltip player_id='1676344' first='Axcel' last='Bailey'], a running back who I highlighted during our 2027 rankings release, leads the way for the Rams and cooking. Bailey is tops on the team with 62 carries for 494 yards and 6 scores on the ground. He is compliemented by his quarterback, [player_tooltip player_id='1905672' first='Teriq' last='Moore'], who is a senior. It seems as though Moore is more of scrambler/option type of quarterback. Moore has ran 37 times for 284 yards with 4 touchdowns, while completing 17-34 passes for 220 yards and 1 score. This run-and-play defense duo is supported by [player_tooltip player_id='1905674' first='Xyon' last='Marshall']. Marshall is tops on the team with 21 tackles (9 solo). He also has a share of the lead in sacks (1) and forced fumbles (1).

On the contrary, Paulsboro seems to be more of a pass-prioritized team. Paulsboro's quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='1466300' first='Malakhai' last='McKenzie'] is having a really strong, efficient season as he has completed 21-31 passes for 365 yards, throwing 7 touchdowns and just 1 interception; he has also added a 14-yard touchdown run to his ledger, as well as 3, two-point conversions. [player_tooltip player_id='1466302' first='Jeremiah' last='Carr'] is his favorite target, who has 9 of his team's 21 total receptions for 184 of his team's 365 yards, while scoring twice. On both sides of the ball, be aware of [player_tooltip player_id='1905675' first='Jamal' last='Robinson']. His soft hands have him leading the team leading the team in interceptions (2) and receiving touchdowns (3).

Riverside (3-1) at Holy Cross Prep (4-0)

A team we highlighted last week in Riverside ended up taking a bad loss, 42-8, at Burlington City. The good news is that the Rams have an immediate opportunity to compete against another top team in Holy Cross Prep this week. After pulling ahead last Thursday in their closest game of the season against Buena 35-30, Holy Cross looks to get back to cruising ahead in this one.

For Riverside, [player_tooltip player_id='1476887' first='Dean' last='Potts'] seems to be a prospect that does it all. A quarterback (18-32, 256 yards, 1 TD), he also is second on the team in carries and yardage (36 for 165), while having a share of the team lead in rushing scores (5). However, Potts leads the team in sacks and forced fumbles with 2 teach, has made 7 tackles (4 solo), 3 tackles for loss, and recovered a fumble of his own. [player_tooltip player_id='1476886' first='Alton' last='Howell'] also seems like a prospect who could make noise. His 14 tackles (5 solo) are good for the team lead, while he has also taken a fumble to the house for 6. Additionally, Howel his third on the team in rushing with a 28/142/1 slash line

A prospect who finished hot to end the season last year has hit the ground running like he never stopped playing. Defensive back and wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id='993106' first='Anthony' last='D'Ambrosio'] is having an incredible start to the season. His 32 tackles (15 solo) are good for third on the team, while he also has a pick-six to his name. Most impressively, D'Ambrosio is a one-man wrecking crew at receiver. As a team, Holy Cross Prep has 26 receptions for 566 yards and 8 receiving scores; D'Ambrosio, however, has accounted for 19/477/6 of those thus far. As though that was not enough, D'Ambrosio has returned 3 kicks - 2 of which he housed. Expect [player_tooltip player_id='1905676' first='Patrick' last='Klepp'] to make noise in the trenches. The senior lineman has made 16 stops (10 solo), but leads the team in both sacks and tackles for loss with 4 each.

Camden (3-1) at Rancocas Valley (4-0)

For Rob Hinson's Camden squad, they look to avenge a premature exit from last years playoffs. After opening on the road against Martinsburg (WV), the panthers have one 2-1 with their lone hiccup being a 1-point defeat against Shawnee. In their upcoming test, the Group II school is playing up - up considerably - as they travel on the road to Group V's Rancocas Valley. Rancocas Valley is off to a flawless 4-0 start, with their closest game - ironically enough - also being against Shawnee, on the road, a 3-point victory. Many of my contacts speculate that Rancocas Valley is South V's team-to-beat this season.

For Rancocas Valley, [player_tooltip player_id='1043531' first='Jameer' last='Bellamy'] seems to be their go-to player to this point in the season. Bellamy, by far, leads the team in all major categories, including touches total (77), total yardage (481), and scores (5). After an impact season last fall, [player_tooltip player_id='1151578' first='Michael' last='Beasley'] is now having a breakthrough sophomore season. The 2028 graduate leads the team in tackles (38) and sacks (9). Beasley also has a share of the team lead in fumble recoveries (2), while also accruing 16 tackles for loss and 1 forced fumble. Should this be a close one, specialist [player_tooltip player_id='1537305' first='Jameson' last='Hollander'] might be the difference. As a kicker, Hollander has made 6-7 PATs and 3-4 field goal attempts with a 32-yard longer. Perhaps more impressively is that of his 11 punts, 8 have been downed inside the opponents' 20-yard line.

Much is being trusted in such a young player, specifically at quarterback. Lining up in the gun for the Panthers is freshman [player_tooltip player_id='1401014' first='Gregory' last='Wyche Jr.'] Being thrusted into competition, Wyche has not really been held back and is experiencing a baptism by fire. Wyche has gone 32-52 for 460 yards with 5 touchdowns and 2 interceptions; where on the ground, he is third on the team in carries (16) and yardage (127). Wyche is protected, however, by a steady rushing attack that is led by [player_tooltip player_id='1021187' first='Christian' last='Braxton']. Braxton has slashed 55/361/3 on the ground thus far. I have always known how good [player_tooltip player_id='533699' first='Ibn' last='Muhammad'] is, but it seems that this fall seems to be the season that he puts the state on notice. Muhammad is having an incredible start to his senior season in all phases of the game, alhamdulillah. The Panther's leading receiver, he has slashed 12/225/3 when targeted; he gets the ball on carries, going 4/80/1; has taken a kick return 70-yards for a score; has 13 tackles (9 solo), 1 forced fumble, 3 tackles for loss, 3 sacks, and 2 fumble recoveries.

Eastern (3-1) at Pennsauken (3-1)

A talented roster that, for whatever reason, seems to not get the notoriety they deserve, Eastern has had played in some tight games and had some gutsy wins. After stumbling in a 3-point opening day loss to Cherry Hill east, the Vikings seem to have a renewed focus on the little things - winning a 6-point game against Ocean City and then a 1-point game at Vineland, before winning handedly against Cherry Hill East. For Pennsuaken, this game will be a good litmus test to see how they measure up. After shutting out Camden Catholic 34-0, the then got shutout by Washington Township 41-0. Since then, they have responded with consecutive victories.

[player_tooltip player_id='1513546' first='Randall' last='Blount'] is a prospect that, in my conversations with Group-of-Four FBS teams, they really seem to like. Obviously I agree - and so do his coaches. Blount is Pennauken's top offensive force, accounting for 301 total yards and 3 touchdowns on 43 total touches. Defensively, look to [player_tooltip player_id='1905679' first='Kameron' last='Hoskins'] to apply pressure. He leads the team with 2 sacks.

When you talk about Eastern football, if he is not the first player you discuss he ought to be. [player_tooltip player_id='857276' first='Terry' last='Cook'], now a junior, is emerging as a top talent in South Jersey. Cook, who has always been a top-notch defender, has made 11 tackles (7 solo) this season and picked off 2 passes - one of which he took back for a score. Moreover, Cook has expended offensive game significantly. Cook leads the way in all categories with a 15/198/3 stat line. As Cook was a young talent identified early on years ago, [player_tooltip player_id='1524876' first='A'Shaad' last='Carter'] might be the next. Carter, a freshman, is a key component of the Vikings rushing attack. Carter has 38 carries for 237 yards (both second ont he team), but leads them in rushing scores with 3. Defensively, [player_tooltip player_id='1905681' first='Brayden' last='Dove'] is having a great start to the year. Dove has been credited with a team-leading 41.5 tackles (19 solo) with 3 tackles for loss, 1 sack, 1 forced fumble, and 1 fumble recovery.
