I've been looking forward to seeing some tape from Whitley. Fortunately, we have two weeks' worth of highlights to look at. Today, we'll take a look at his tape against Oxford.

First highlight, Jeremiah gets a touch on a screen pass. Initially, great vision, exploding up the middle of the field. I also like the decision to take it outside. Though I thought he could have tried to make that last defender miss instead of running out of bounds (unless game context called for the clock to be stopped). Second, a good inside run. Follows his blocks, and gets exactly what he's supposed to get. Third, a similar run where Jeremiah follows his blocks and gets what he can.

Looking forward to seeing Jeremiah's season-long highlights in November. I'll also do my best to catch a Groves game!

Cole is a great two-way player for Rochester.

Most of his tape is at receiver, but his first highlight is on defense. Playing outside linebacker, Cole does a good job covering his zone and making a quick tackle on the sidelines.

Then, we get into his receiver tape. 0:30 shows a good out route and catch at the sideline. I like the route break and the hands. Much better route detail than most high school WRs. 0:53- same thing. Good out route, good hands, and tries to walk the tightrope on the sidelines. At 1:36, we get a corner route. Good adjustment to make the catch there.

Overall, I like Cole as a possession receiver. He's a very good route runner!

Quinn made a number of good plays in Stoney Creek's upset win over Lake Orion.
The tape begins with a great run fit. Quinn does an excellent job getting into the C gap and plugging it up. Second, another good run fit, this time outside the tackles.

Whenever the Lake Orion run game made it to the second level, it seems like Quinn was there to make a stop. Not a long tape, but still some impressive plays against an OAA Red opponent.

A closer look at James' highlights against Northville.

James does his job. Tape kicks off with an off-tackle run. Follows his blocks, gets what he can, and earns a chunk play. Second, looks like the same play, but James bounces it outside, lays a stiff arm, and continues down the sideline.

James is a solid "slashing" running back. Not going to kill you in the open field, but has good, subtle moves in traffic and can break tackles.

A productive two-way player for West Bloomfield.

Most of Tristian's tape is from the defensive side, but there are a handful of reps at tackle. 1:14 and 1:18 are solid pass blocks. Great job keeping his man in front. Plus, 1:22 is a good second-level block.

The real meat of Tristian's tape comes from the defensive side of the ball. First highlight, Tristian earns a free ride into the backfield, then earns the solo tackle. At 0:10, his getoff is a tad slow, but makes up for it by fighting through his block, keeping his eyes in the backfield, and stopping the option. Finally, 0:16 shows off Tristan's active hands and whistle-to-whistle effort. Great tape from week 1, and I'm looking forward to watching more West Bloomfield football this Fall.

A great mismatch at Y.

Most of Brady's highlights are in-line, but his first highlight shows him off the line of scrimmage. Nice 5-yard hitch, finds the soft spot in the zone, and earns a first down after fighting past a couple of tackles. Next are two in-line blocking highlights. I like the physicality, but the footwork & all-around fundamentals can use work. Still, most high school TEs are far worse blockers. Finally, 0:21 is the classic TE stick. Good job securing the catch and getting down.

If Brady's listed height is accurate, he could be a D2 or D3 target at Tight End.
